Amazing educational, book!
Very informational, more than I expected it tells the story and history of the aircraft and talks about and tells you the specifics of the aircraft. The only thing was that it was not organized by country, one minute it was a French plane the next, an Italian plane, but with amount info it gives, it easily makes up for itself. The first three stars are because of the informational aspect. The next two are to represent the enjoyment I got from this book. I would recommend it to any person interested in ww2, military and History.

Plane Spotters Guide
This book is very informative. It has several views of the aircraft in the book. It has aircraft from WW I to the 1990s era. Each aircraft has a list of specifications including armament and other information. I looked at this book when it arrived and found it informative. If you are interested in aviation or military aviation this book is for you. PC.

Great for Remembering
My husband loved it. He was a Navy Airedale in the Korean War and this book has all the planes he wanted to see. Easy to read. He had a great trip down memory lane.

Colorful Guide to Military Aircraft!
Paging through Tony Holmes' PLANE SPOTTER'S GUIDE gives one a sense of deja vu. It offers lots of nicely-done color profiles and general information on military aircraft from the Sopwith Pup to the Rockwell B-1B Lancer.Since it was produced by Osprey Publishing in 2012, Holmes' book obviously makes use of information and color side-views previously published in various Osprey titles. Each a/c gets a one-page write-up, tech specs sidebar and a well-captioned color profile. There's not much new in terms of information here but the color is nice. The book makes a fun lunch-time time-waster. Though Amazon has it listed at $11.95, I picked up a copy on the B&N Remainders table for $6.98, which is a fairer price. In short, PLANE SPOTTER'S GUIDE is not an essential purchase but at $6.95, what the heck! Your call, folks.

Four Stars
Worth the price, but left out a few planes I looked for.

An OK purchase if in the remainder bin
Would have probably given the book a lower rating, but the narrative concerning the pilots of the planes displayed were usually interesting. Not really a plane spotters guide, as you would never use this to actually spot a plane, but a rehash of the airplanes of the aces series (I am guessing at this really). With only one side view of each aircraft available, one is not able to really see the aircraft. I also became somewhat dishearten while reading about a Japanese pilot, who lost his life when his aircraft carrier was sunk in action by the cruiser USS Wisconsin, which wasn't a cruiser and was not present at that naval action. Facts like this always make me question the reliability of other facts that I had known previously.

Mancano i disegni dimensionali,...

Misleading title
Somewhat disappointing and not a spottters book by any means as it only shows side elevations and misses out on the distinctive plan views of aircraft such as the twin boom Lightning or delta wing of the Vulcan. There are also many glaring omissions such as the Hawker Hunter, Gloster Meteor and earlier Wellington bomber. However, it would be impossible to include everything in a book of this size but it is almost unforgivable that as the book seems to portray aircraft development that there is no place for the Hawker jump jet. Still the colour schemes are well executed and pleasant to study.

Interesting but useless for my purpose
Sadly this did not fulfil my wishes at all when I bought it on speck. It is only a Plane spotters guide if that plane is on the ground and you are next to it (in which case it probably has a stand with a label on it anyway), it is not a spotters guide if it happens to fly overhead (as in my experience most planes do), ALL drawings are from the side which is great if you need a painting guide for the side of a plane and again useless if you want to paint anything else on your model plane. So in all honesty I am not sure what "niche" this book is fulfilling, I will say the drawings are excellent but if you live on a flight path or near an airport and want to "Spot" and "Identify" stuff flying overhead this book is useless.

Cute book, good value for money
I am not an expert on airplanes, but I gave it to my cousin (who is a pilot-in-the-making) as a gift and he was very happy with it.
