I installed this isolator on my solar system and it works very well. Solid build and easy to install.

It's good value for money and easy enough to install it seems durable enough but I wouldn't put it somewhere its like to get hit hard often. The only gripe I have with this is it's very easy to turn the switch the wrong direction so unless your looking or remember if you mount it somewhere that's not easy to get to it can get very annoying.

A good solid piece of kit. This is the second one I've bought to isolate both the domestic and now the engine power supplies upon my narrowboat.

Perfect for a recent camper conversion Used on 12v & solar systems to isolate if ever needed Been using this type for a few years now but only just found out the red dial can be removed for a slightly more secure isolation! - only works in the 'off' position, keep turning off about ⅛ of a turn then pull the red knob off! Who knew?! 😂

I looked at the internals and decided against using it. Unfortunately too late to return. If I was only using it for low current stuff I may have used it. For solar panels etc I suspect it would be fine. But I wouldn't put 50A - 200A through it. This is just my opinion and others may vary. My problems are the copper makes contact directly to what looks like a stainless steel bolt. The clunk to connect is firm and good, but disconnecting doesn't have this same mechanical thunk. I have concerns about the copper to stainless steel contact having a higher resistance than is ideal and would create heat at the load it is specified to work at. Other issues such as galvanic corrosion and the poor surface of the bolt also causes me minor concerns. But stainless steel directly onto copper? I have attached a picture so you can see for yourself and make your own judgement but I won't be using it.

Ich habe den Volatus Trendschalter 12V zwischen meinen Batterien und dem Wechselrichter eingebaut und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Die Verarbeitung wirkt robust und hochwertig, der Schalter liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich leicht betätigen. Man merkt sofort, dass er zuverlässig arbeitet und für hohe Ströme ausgelegt ist. Für mich war besonders wichtig, dass ich die Stromzufuhr zum Wechselrichter schnell und sicher unterbrechen kann – genau das erfüllt dieser Schalter perfekt. Die Montage war unkompliziert und die Anschlüsse machen einen stabilen Eindruck. Insgesamt ein sehr solides Produkt, das genau das tut, was es soll. Für jeden, der seine Anlage sicher und übersichtlich schalten möchte, absolut empfehlenswert!
