Really good story
So much deception…who to trust? This was a good continuation of the series. I thought some romance might enter the storyline, but alas, not the case. Perhaps in the future. Lots of action. Well done.

A excellent addition to the Fifth Column Series.
So I finished the "Nature of War" (4th Fifth Column) by Molly Lerma. Well done!It had been a long gap in time since I read the book in the series and I was a bit concerned about how much I would remember or if I would have to re-read some or all of the series. I very much appreciated the summary of the first three books that was included at the beginning of the book. There was enough information that I did not need to look back at the previous books of the series.I enjoyed "further adventures of Captain Cortez and her team". I am looking forward to the next book in the series, even though, I know it is the last one.I liked how in the first chapter of the book a connection was made to Renegade Peace. That brought back very good memories of that series as well.I especially liked the 2nd and 2nd to the last chapters that had Dwight and Gertie in them. Those two chapters formed a nice set of "book ends" to the story line. It appears we will see more of Dwight in the fifth book, which could add some amusing bits to the book.

Celestial aftermath and Initiative implosion?
While the previous story ended with Jace Hughes inviting the Fifth Column into the fight against the Celestials, this book starts with the Fifth Column's final fight with the Celestials. It then jumps a year with the Initiative keeping them on the backburner as they do menial jobs (rescuing cats and delivery service) to make ends meet. During one delivery attempts are made to kidnap Delgado and she picks up a crewman, Rourke. A message is received from Calliope suggesting things are not right with the Initiative and so they follow up only to find Dunham is missing.....Adventure, drinking, double crosses and high jinks rule along with moments of personal reflection. This combination again makes for a fine and enjoyable read.

right where they left off!!
Yes, this is what this Variant group is about, started right where this story left off. If you want espionage, quick action and excellent writing then this continues to be the one one want. Can’t wait to dive into the conclusion!!!

Very good
The book was very good oh, I had almost given up hope that anymore fifth column bolts would come out. But I'm happy to say that this book did not disappoint, the old team is back together oh, and they're about to break open a can of whoopass on the bad guys.

great series
5 column is an unexpected expansion of Chaney’s universe. A view from the other side so to speak. I liked the way it tied into the previous stories but still stands on its own.

Good read
Another exciting books in the series. Chaney and his co-authors never disappoint. Wrongs still need to be righted and the bands guys put down. This group can do it!
