I felt this would be a book that today’s children would delight in reading to their own offspring a generation from now
What a fantastic book for children. Immediately I felt this would be a book that today’s children would delight in reading to their own offspring a generation from now. There is a natural build during the adventures of Dylan and the other animals that culminates to conclusions on a chapter by chapter basis. Real structure which is easy for the little ones to understand as well as entertaining them along the way. Perhaps entertaining a little too much as I must have read this a dozen times already.

A great story!
This book was a delight to read! At first I did not understand it, but by the end of the first chapter I was hooked. I enjoyed it and I learned some new words, like funtambulist and scarlet. I couldn't wait to read it each night. I hope that there will be a fourth book because Katherine Reynolds writes really good stories that make you believe that Dylan, Red Tabby and friends are real. This book would be a good book for girls and boys. NGB Age 7

A dancing horse and a seafaring cat
At first, I thought that thisbook for children might seem too long for a child's attention span, but it is divided into bite-size chapters that would be perfect for bedtime reading, or for long, enjoyable stretches on a lazy day. The characters, mostly animals of all sorts, are delightfully written, and even the human characters have their charms. The emphasis on perseverance, friendship, and on the reward that kind and generous behavior brings make it wonderful children's literature. The best part is that there are two more books of Dylan and Red Tabby's adventures with The Happy Days Circus to come.
