Taylor Davis: Violin Play-Along Volume 65 (Hal Leonard Violin Play-along)

This is an incredible collection of arrangements. I would say the player should be fairly advanced as these versions require the full breadth of the fingerboard, mature bow technique, and a strong sense of rhythm and tempo. My adult student brought this in for the Skyrim theme and we both got a huge kick out of it as fans of the game.You can tell this work was done BY a violinist FOR violinists, as it encompasses knowledge of techniques idiomatic to the instrument rather than being basic melody lines transposed from piano to treble staff.Advancing high-schoolers will enjoy and be challenged by this, and/or Suzuki books 5-7 as a minimum level recommendation.

It has good, full accompaniments. The arrangements are a bit hokey, but not really bad. It's not to difficult to play, about level 3 with a few high notes that really make you climb the fingerboard. Overall, I give it a "B+."

This book was exactly what I needed. I'm teaching myself violin. I'm in the gap between beginner instructuonals and Lindsey Stirling. I wanted something to challenge me without breaking my brain. This is perfect! Beautiful compositions. Some fleeting third and fourth position, but nothing too mind-melting. I love it! It hasn't left my music stand since it arrived.

This is my favorite book of sheet music right now, I really love the arrangements and it gives great insight into ornamenting music :-) Incredibly fun to play. A few more bow or position markings would be handy, but you can also pick those up from the videos if curious. I'm really glad they produced this book.

Was a Christmas gift for our Granddaughter last year. She plays violin in her 8th grade orchestra. She loves it.

Ich hatte mir das Notenheft zugelegt, da es eine schöne Mischung aus Film-, Serien- und Videopielmusik umfasst und einige meiner Lieblingsstücke beinhaltet. Die Noten sind sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene geeignet, da u.A. auch mal ein Lagenwechsel auf der E-Saite vorkommen kann (Dearly Beloved). Anfänger hingegen können mit den Stücken ihre Bogenführung und Spieltechnik optimieren.Ich bin mit dem Arrangement der Stücke rundum happy. Mit Game of Thrones, Skyrim und Kindgom Hearts macht das Üben doppelt so viel Spaß! :)

I have a few of Lindsey's books and feel like this one is much better and stays true to Taylor Davis' YouTube Videos. Lovely backing tracks (which are ONLINE). Arrangements are nice

Ritengo che questo sia uno dei pochi libri "presentabili" ovvero con delle basi credibili (probabilmente le stesse che propone la violinista nei suoi spettacoli)
