This product is really stiff. I tried heating it with hot water in hopes that it would become malleable enough to tie it like the instructions said, but it is really hard to get the knots to stay tied. It was a very strong "wire", so I think it would easily hold a heavy item. I just do not trust my knot to stay tied.

Seems like it's not going to hold
I've never had an issue. Literally every painting and mirror in my house is hanging from this stuff. I would use back up for something super super heavy like up a large mirror or something big with glass. I make two or three knots and everything has stayed up. Looks great with the hooks on my picture rail!

Got these to hang pictures without putting holes in the walls but haven't gotten around to it.
