My daughter and I have always talked about the need for a hearth cricket at my home. Recently, she bought her first house. I thought it would be fun to give her a cricket for her fireplace for good luck and happy dwelling. I chose a different cricket for my son--seemed to be more his taste, but deliberated a long time and selected this as the perfect cricket for my daughter. When it arrived I was so happy with the size, the pretty subtle finish, and the delicate but sturdy design. Imagine our mutual surprise when we opened gifts on Christmas morning and discovered that we had each chosen the same cricket for each other! Needless to say, we were both very pleased and the coincidence made the gifts even more meaningful.

I am very happy with my purchase. This cricket has a good weight and size. It is definitely gift- able! The color is just right too. It arrived in a short shipping time. And the packaging was sturdy. The antenna of the cricket are strong and held up well in the styrofoam box. I would purchase this again.

This cricket is the perfect size to put by the fireplace for good luck. It's very heavy and well made with just a touch of a modern look to it. I gave it to my daughter when she moved into her new house.

I loved the cricket since it looked very realistic and well made. I am giving it 4 stars because I wish this company would offer 2 options. First, I wish I could buy the same item in bigger size, twice the size. Second, I would love it if this company would offer the same item in Brass too. I have seen crickets made by other manufacturers and question the quality of material and construction. This company, Plow & Hearth, made this cricket with quality material and construction....It is very solid! I would love it if they could make a Brass version with the same quality and construction in mind in bigger sizes :-)

The Cricket is exactly as advertised. It is sturdy and simply adorable. The best part is you do not have to have a hearth to enjoy it.

This is the most adorable cast iron cricket ever! The detail and rustic color look even better in person, if that`s possible. It's body is about 4 inches long from head to tip of back feet; with the antenna adding another 2 1/2 inches. It weighs just over 11 ounces. It's a great size. Large enough to see what it is, but not so big it`s the first thing you`ll notice on the hearth. Absolutely charming.
