Great lens
I work in film and have used most of the anamorphic lenses out there so had pretty high expectations. Having seen these reviewed online, I decided to take the plunge and buy one myself to use with my own personal e-mount kit. Customer services were really great and answered any queries very quickly. The lens arrived beautifully packaged and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s very compact for an anamorphic and very solidly made. The damping on both iris and focus feels just right. Optically, it’s very nice, with pleasing characteristics that I’d say place it somewhere between modern and more vintage and with a 1.6x squeeze, you definitely get the anamorphic qualities you’d expect. It’s sharp but not clinically so which is a little more flattering. All in all, very happy with the lens and if you’re new to anamorphics, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing
I was debating to either grab the smaller Saturn version for my FX3 or to go with this Venus version for a few bucks more. Man, I am happy with this lens. Compared it to my buddies Saturn version and the Saturn feels a tad bit sharper but more soap opera looking. This Venus version makes literally every, and I mean every, scene and thing I filmed, look like a dang movie. It's amazing.Shipping wise I wish Amazon would have at least padded the smaller box in the bigger box they send it in. Sirui on the other hand did a terrific job padding this bad boy. They even vacuum sealed this bad boy and it was super gratifying opening this package. The lens performance is astonishing, nice and smooth towards the edging, amazing low light performance and silky oval bokeh. Even in broad daylight the T stops allow to film in very bright conditions without killing the subjects details too much, of course a mat box with ND Filters will be better, but for what it does, its amazing.Focal Ring and T Ring are tight and smooth. I am running this on my RS3 with the lidar for follow focus and it's amazing how it keeps focus with the subject. All in all, I love that I bought this lens.Future Videos will be uploaded on my YT channel.

SIRUI Venus 50mm: The Anamorphic Investment for Cinematic Brilliance
The SIRUI Venus 50mm T2.9 Anamorphic Lens stands as a monument to cinematic mastery, a tool for creators who seek the quintessence of filmic expression. This is no lightweight contender in the realm of portable lenses; it is the more robust, commanding member of the SIRUI anamorphic family, the Venus series. With its substantial build, the Venus 50mm is a testament to the enduring allure of anamorphic lenses. The heft of this lens is not just about its physical presence; it's about the promise of optical excellence. The additional glass and intricate design contribute to a lens that feels as significant as the images it captures. The 1.6x anamorphic squeeze of this lens is a creative boon, transforming 4K footage into a widescreen panorama with a resolution of 3840x1350. This lens offers a horizontal field of view equivalent to a 37.5mm lens on a full-frame sensor, providing a broad vista that's essential for capturing the grandeur of your scenes with that distinctive anamorphic character. The bokeh is pure poetry—oval, cinematic, and utterly enchanting. The blue lens flares are a dramatic signature of this lens, crafting scenes with a boldness that's unmistakably anamorphic. For those who prefer a gentler touch, a Black Mist/Fog filter can be the perfect companion to this lens, softening the image and flares for a more nuanced narrative. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the price. At around 1499 Euros, the Venus 50mm is indeed an investment. It's nowhere near the stratospheric prices of classic anamorphic lenses, yet it's still a significant sum. With no autofocus and no frills, this lens needs work. The cost is justified in every frame that echoes the depth and dimension of anamorphic filmmaking. For the devoted cinematographer, the price of the SIRUI Venus 50mm T2.9 is a gateway to a world of visual storytelling that's rich with cinematic texture. If you're on the fence, take a moment to explore footage captured with this lens and see if it speaks to your creative spirit. For those who resonate with its visuals, the Sirui 50mm is not just a purchase; it's an extension of your artistic voice.

May The Force Be With You... Prepare for amazing Bokeh, and Light Flares
Sirui has done an amazing job creating this budget-friendly anamorphic lens. The heavy metal build quality, creamy bokeh, and flares that hit just right and are not overdone make this lens a go-to in my kit. The consistent gearing across the range is super helpful as I am always able to leave my follow focus in place. To top it all off it's at a price point you can't beat. If you are looking for a great anamorphic lens at a great price, it is definitely worth a shot.

Simply wow!
The media could not be loaded. The possibilities that this lens offers are unlimited. Never been happier with a lens purchase. Thanks Sirui for making affordable anamorphic lenses!A quick review for people to make an informed purchase:-Simply go for it, don’t hesitate!-Desqueeze is quite easy using Photoshop or PremierePro-It would be helpful to have an external monitor to nail composition and focus everytime, but not a must even if your camera doesn't offer desqueeze function-Flares are beautiful and the lens doesn't go crazy unless pointed directly at the light source-There are videos on YouTube about the squeeze not being constant, ignore it, these are barely noticeable-Lens is amazingly sharp contrary to the fact that anamorphic lens produce soft images. It's a pleasant surprise for me, one could always make it softer in post, if preferred-I paired it with a Sony a7siii and it produces majestic videos on s&q mode (see attached video)-Beautiful oval bokeh (best to turn of steady shot as it makes the bokeh wobbly)-The whole setup with an external monitor weighs less than 2kg and can be easily handled by a decent gimbal (tested with DJI RSC2)-The focus and aperture rings are quite smooth, however while focusing manually I ended up messing the aperture inadvertently, so I wish the aperture ring was a bit more tighter but this is no big deal-Pulling focus with the gimbal is easily achieved using focus motorsHope this is helpful!
