How can you take a picture if you are not close enough to push the camera button?

If you have an Apple Watch it has a camera remote. I use this to take pictures from far away.

It looks like it turns left or right for sideways movement, which is great. But will it adjust for upward/downwards movements?

No it does not. It rotates around left to right and all the way around but it can only be adjusted up and down manually.

How deep are the grips that hold the phone? i have an iphone pro max with the popsocket, so it needs to be at least 3/4" to keep phone in the case.

I always have to take mine phone out of its case to put it into the grips. The grips are shallow.
