**Q: is it good for beginners dj's?**
A: Yes and No.

No: It has a lot of functions and deep customization within those functions. As a beginner, you want to learn how to blend, mix without sync, use basic effects in short bursts, timing, etc. first.. The DDJ 400 would be the perfect choice as it has more than enough to learn the ropes and eventually start learning more intermediate level skills after. It offers a full array of FX and performance pads as well to customize.

Yes: If you have the money to blow, (DDJ 400: $250 or less - DDJ 800: $800-899+) then it would be a good investment for the future. If you're just starting out and try to tackle everything the 800 has to offer too soon/quick/too much at once/etc, then you'll be overwhelmed and your skill building of the basics will be hindered. If you learn the right way and take enough time to do it right, you can justify the cost and slowly start to learn the deeper aspects. I would only recommend buying the 800 if cost is no issue. Don't ruin your credit or blow essential money over it, more or less.
