Weird
The book was delivered in good condition, and quickly, but as a TMNT comic it's...something else. The turtles carry the wrong weapons (Don with a katana that looks like a machete) and are called the wrong names (Leon?). Lots of pop culture references, humor, and a pretty unique story, albeit not one that makes a ton of sense. This is one for old-school comics fans, not necessarily TMNT fans unless you're someone who has to have everything they ever appeared in. Like fanfic, but for people who really like OC's.

Wow. That was Awful.
I'm kind of amazed at how bad this is. I mean, TMNT often goes off the rails with crazy stories, but this one takes the cake. It's a testament to the strength of the brand name that these stories didn't tank the series. This contains colorized versions of original Mirage issues 16, 22, and 23. These make a self-contained trilogy of awfulness. The story is extremely bad, and the Turtles are hardly even in it. (Not even in their own comic!) Instead we are "treated" to a time travel story involving a little girl named Dale who looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid, an alien, and a caveman. It is bad. I mean, REALLY bad. I've never read a TMNT comic this bad before. The art is horrible. And the story is filled with cuteness and misplaced humor that's not even close to being funny. It's so bad. It's the worst. Worth a look I guess, just to see the series' low point. It surely can't get any worse!

Correction: issues 16, 22 & 23
Note that the solicitation above is incorrect: this book actually contains issues 16, 22, and 23 of the original TMNT comic, all of which are written and drawn by Mark Martin.

the stories are great and in color for this set
After getting the ultimate collection, I wanted to find the rest of the Mirage TMNT comics. The TMNT classics collection was where I found almost all of the rest of the series. the stories are great and in color for this set.

Great coloring, mixed stories
The three collected issues are all by Mark Martin, this time in full color. The originals looked good already in black&white but coloring is so good in this volume that it makes the stories better. Those stories themselves are a very mixed bag, however. The first issue is one of the best TMNT volume 1 stories with a fun time-travel plot where the turtles meet an adorable little girl from the future. Quality starts to deteriorate with the second issue which suffers from having two separate (if still coherent) storylines that are never brought together in any way. The third issue is downright terrible; the narrative is confusing (and not in an intriguing kind of way), random and exists for no other purpose than to advertise Martin's Gnatrat character. A disappointing end to an otherwise excellent comic book collection.

Not worth your money
Kinda wish I hadn’t bought this.Three really random stories, the plot is all over the place, and trying to understand what was going on took more effort than I was willing to give. It’s been said before but, if you are some die-hard collector who needs everything TMNT then this is for you, otherwise avoid.

TMNT.
I love TMNT but these stories collected in this issues are not my favourites. I would only recommend this for absolute completest.
