Bought this as a present for my father-in-law who lives in Vermont. The handle on his old shovel broke from chipping through ice and so we decided to buy him this one to replace it. The handle is extremely sturdy and the metal shovel head makes chipping through ice a breeze! Would recommend for anyone else living in icy climates

My husband had a shovel similar to this one and was looking for a replacement. He is very happy with this one. He likes the long handle and lightweight scoop. It works well shoveling snow.

Not sure how you measure you shovel scoop. You description states it is 13 3/4 by 11 1/2...not sure where on scoop you take measurements.I assumed the scoop as 11 1/2 wide and 13 3/4 from top to bottom..like the one I am replacing.Your description did not say scoop was 15 inches from top to bottom.

We had a hard time finding this shovel at all the hardware stores where we bought all our other shovels years ago. We use these shovels in our horse barn to clean and pick up manure. They are invaluable to scrape up the urine soaked sawdust/manure. Eventually they wear down or get bent, ect. then we have to file down the edge which necessitates having to buy another shovel.

good light wt. shovel for light work. This not a heavy duty shovel for dirt or gravel, It meets expectation for light work jobs.

Light in weight, but great for moving a great deal of snow.
