Q: Do the handle and top get hot to the touch?

This is a beautifully made carafe with one major fault. THE HANDLE DOES GET HOT AND STAYS SO FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. I was extremely disappointed in this.

Q: Where is this made? China?

This is a German engineered technology but finished to highest standards in China. Each Carafe has gone through QA checking process. Thermal retention checked in a certified lab. There are some poorly made carafes in China but we can assure you this is Premium Quality with the best Thermal Retention amongst all carafes we tested in the market

Q: Does this have a shiny finish or a brushed finish? I don't want to have to be fussy cleaning the outside.

It has a brushed finish, to only the very top lid has a shiny finish. Easy to keep clean.

Q: Do they have a smaller size?

Dear Sandy, Unfortunately we do not have a small size in this.
