Purina Pro PlanSport Adult 7 Plus Performance 30/17 Chicken and Rice Formula High Protein Dog Food - 24 lb. Bag

My young Airdale Terrier is an athlete. We hike a lot and her GPS-collar says she runs 2+ miles for every mile I walk, depending on elevation gain. She can easily run 4 miles a few times per week. So, she needs a high-energy food. Unfortunately, all the kibbles I tried her on as a puppy upset her stomach and gave her a different type of runs (haha): Origen, Limited Ingredient, you name it, I tried it. Yes, gradually changed it, probiotics etc. etc. I even made her homemade dogfood for about four months (exhausting). Finally the vet suggested Purina Pro and it works! I accidentally got the one for Adult, 7+ year old dogs, even though she's only 10 months old. So, I got the Puppy version, and nope...that made her sick. The difference between the two seems to be the fat content. So, I keep her on the 7+ year version, supplement with diced chicken for extra protein, and let her run her heart out. I rarely post, but I learn so much from others' posts, that I decided to contribute to the collective knowledge and share our dogfood journey. Not all the petstores carry the 7+ version of the dogfood, and since she responded so much better to it, I wanted to share that out. We order from Amazon now bc I know it will show up in five days at my door and I don't have to drive from store to store hoping they'll have it.

My dog has been eating this dog food for years and loves it. It has been good for her health too.

$50 for a bag of dog food that was full of maggots and unusable! And no returns, of course! Disgusting!
