L'Oreal Paris Le Petite Frost Pull-Through Cap Highlights For Short Hair, H55 Creme Caramel

I've been getting highlights as long as I can remember and I always hated having to sit there, make small talk and spend $170 to not be happy with the end result. I finally went on a limb and tried to do it myself. This product comes with the cap but we all know cap highlights are super dated. I bought foils (also on amazon) and spent a sunny saturday highlighting my own hair. I got MORE compliments doing it myself then the last 5 times I spent $170. Look, if you've ever sat in a stylist chair for 2 hours while they foiled your hair...YOU can do this. It was way easier than i expected and I just kept checking it as I went. Really came out nice!

I have short hair approximately to my chin and this highlighting kit had just the right amount for me. My hair was already highlighted but needed some pizazz since it had been a few months since I had done it. This worked perfectly. I left it on about 50 min and when I shampooed, rinsed, and blew my hair dry my hair was not brassy at all and it was the softest it's been in a long time. Don't know what's in this stuff to make my hair so soft but it is. I did not use the conditioner or shampoo (not sure now which it was) that was included.

I love this product. I have the darkest brown to black hair and this caramel color really lightened it up. Yes some of it was brassy, but if you take it one step lighter it’s perfect. I have long below shoulder length hair and I used one half of the box (comes with two packets) at first and then a week later touched up with the second. I watched a YouTube video that shows the best style is not to go all the way to the roots, start from the back and come forward. If you put a thick layer on it works quickly (<10 min) but with just a little it takes longer (30-45 min). I don’t use the cap. I love that I have control over my highlights and I don’t have to pay through the nose for someone else to do a mediocre job.

Directions were not especially clear. It said on the box that the processing time was 60 minutes and thankfully I was paying attention because my hair was completely processed in under 10 minutes. Scared me!

My highlights are not brassy in the least which used to be an issue..Subtle or intense, they are beautiful..and easy to do..incredibly inexpensive alternative to salon highlights..many compliments..fantastic product!

I, too, have used this for years... and lately have had trouble finding it in the stores. My hair is mostly grey now (at least the roots are), so I have to do a 2-step process every 3 weeks... apply light brown (L'Oreal) on the roots only, wash & dry, then the Petite Frost (I do use the cap because of fine hair). There is no way I could afford to have all that done in a salon as often as I need it, and I do get a lot of compliments on my hair color. The woman at the spa who cuts my hair always says it looks great (it should -- I've been coloring it longer than she's been alive...). The quantity is perfect for shorter hair... and be sure to leave it on for at least 25 minutes (not much longer, tho').

Wow does this make your hair blonde! As a person with hard to color hair, this really does the job with coverage. However, it did make my hair extremely dry, so watch out how long you leave it on. It's a great color.

Easy to use, good results. The cap is pretty flimsy so expect to use it once or twice before its not worth using anymore. I didn't get any brassiness or uneven tones. Using the smaller book, the narrow strands that I lightened blend well with my roots and give my hair a natural looking highlight

Color came out pretty good. Not suitable for highlighting long hair. Color gets lighter if left on for longer period while colouring
