Impressive!!!
Yes, it works well for my 2008 Suburban and looks good. I didn't want a additional connection in the system. I had to have one because I really didn't want to fork out over $400 for the factory rear AC hose. words of advise: clean and sand the aluminum tube with 360 grit or higher sandpaper. More importantly, deburr in and out of your AC line and don't forget the mineral oil on the green seal. the line size I repaired was 3/8

used to repair my 5 ton Trane AC coil that had a pin hole leak.
I used this to fix a leak in my home Trane AC coil. It worked! holding over 200psi pressure on the high side of the coil line (3/8 inch diameter line) . You must be sure to cut the line square and seat it all the way into the fittings, tighten up without the green washers first then open and insert washers and tighten up to spec. Do not over tighten. Getting a new Compressor would have been a long wait not to mention cost. called AC repair person to do the actual re charge.

Frugal Fix For Fail
Update: Holding several months later but did develop small R134a refrigerant leek, but not enough to lose all cooling. So far, it is holding on a 2006 Chevy Suburban high pressure rear A/C line. The SUVs were designed such that the rear A/C line rubs against the heater hose crimp and eventually cuts a gash, letting all refrigerant out of the entire A/C system. The dealer quoted about $1000 to fix, but this splice repairs the gash. Use a close clearance line cutter (the ones with the thumbscrews, rollers, and cutter wheel) to cut out the damage, and clean the line well till shiny. Torque spec is critical. Save money by using a standard socket torque wrench and crowfoot open end extension. Be sure to adjust your torque setting (less with the crowfoot extension) or you will over torque. Search online for "crowfoot on torque wrench" for formulas and online calculators. Or turn the crowfoot extension 90 degrees and use specified torque without adjustment if it will fit.

Quality part
If you know how to use a pipe cutter and have access to the right sized wrenches, this is an easy fix to an annoying problem. I was 2 hours into my 9 hour drive home when my AC went out. Tracked down where the hose going to my rear AC had rubbed through on the rear spring hanger. Looked onlin, saw the OE part is one super long unit going all the way from the engine bay to the trunk, and would cost about $500. Looked for other options and found this little coupler. Worked great. Took me about an hour start to finish. Need to have the right tools and don't forget to deburr the ends before you put the gaskets on. Good product, instructions were decent. Hopefully won't have to use again, but would recommend for anyone that needs to fix the line

Skeptical - Now a Believer!
I was skeptical about this repair. Hard line had rubbed on the spring perch in a customer's Ford E-150 near the driver's side rear tire.It worked great! Held good vacuum on my Robinair 34700z. Charged system and fired it up. 250psi and no leaks! Here's what I did:Loosened the clips that held the line in place and gently positioned it to be easier to repair.Scotchbrite'd the area to get it clean.Cut out the rubbed/damaged tubing (about 2" section) and deburred the ends. Bent the lineWiped clean with brake parts cleaner.Applied (generously) PAG oil on the seals.Tightened until snug, and then a 'touch' more to seat the compression ferrules. You can feel how light/flimsy the aluminum is - it does not take much to over-torque it.Re-secured line ensuring no chance of rubbing on anything.

Worked great on my 2011 Suburban and saved a ton of money over GM parts.
For the 2007-14 Suburban/Yukon XL rear HVAC lines you need two of the 800-642; one 800-641 and one 800-640. Dorman also sells a kit (926-998) with the lines and these connectors. I already bought the GM lines so unfortunately I paid too much overall. I've used these on my 2005 Suburban too.
