I absolutely love this headunit. I bought it for CarPlay and fits my mark V golf 2008 perfectly. Took about 30 mins to install.Screen is very bright and responsive. You do have to click an icon to activate Apple CarPlay but I’ve just created a shortcut on the main screen. Works wonderfully well.It runs android 10 in the background and has wifi capability for updates etc. you can run android apps on it if you want to but I’m keeping it simple.The wireless CarPlay works amazing that I was quite shocked. I guess it would drain your phone battery so what advantages does it have over being plugged in?? Preference I reckon.Strongly recommend

Wireless android auto works well, was main reason for buying. All existing car functions GPS and dab work with the radio as do the steering wheel buttons. Only external piece I used was the mic (comes with radio) apps work well. Has netflix on it, Google store says netflix is no longer supported by the device, so can't upgrade but it works for now. Even put Xbox game pass on it haha! Good little bit of kit compared to some of the more expensive options.

Overall a great head unit, is nice and bright, screen is responsive and wireless android auto works well. However, there are a couple flaws. The touch capacitive buttons for volume etc are to easy to touch when you're trying to use the bottom of the screen, I've turned the unit off by accident too many times! The fitment also isn't perfect for a Mk5 golf, the bit of trim surrounding the unit requires filing down slightly. Another thing is in bright sunlight the screen can be difficult to read, however this isn't often a problem in the UK! 😁

I purchased this head unit after studying the reviews of various similar units. The most important things to me are car play, reversing camera, gps navigation and easy installation. This unit does everthing i need and much more.All the necessary leads are supplied and i ordered the A0119P camera which i installed at the same time.When fitting I had to remove the two metal facia clips on the bottom left and right corners of the Altea XL mounting (see photo) and remove the small piece of plastic to allow the head unit to slide into place. The original facia panel then clips nicely into place, even with two clips missing and looks like it was fitted at the factory.I had a noise coming from the speakers which sounded like a heartbeat every 15 seconds. I traced this to the Altea bluetooth which was trying to connect. I overcame this by disconnecting the bluetooth module under the drivers seat and removing the USB module from the centre console.This Eonon Q53 Pro been a great update for my car and everything works perfectly.

In the listing it says DAB+ !! BUT NO YOU HAVE TO BUY AN EXTRA BIT IE A AERIAL!! MISLEADING!!!!!!I have a £70+ aerial that has DAB+ GPS and NORMAL AERIAL SO DID NOT NEED THIS EXTRA BIT! BUT HAD TO BUY IT AS THERE IS NOWHERE TO PLUG A DAB AERIAL IN!!!

The head unit is great easy to install 2 issues I had and that is why only 3 stars, first issue was the fascia for the radio, I have a skoda yeti 2014 face lift model, and the original fascia does not fit the hole is way too big in the fascia for this 9 inch screen, I contacted eonon through their website and here and on amazon they said search for vw dash kit, that came up with nothing just a load of other stuff that's not related.I bought a few dash fascia off ebay and none of them fit so I was actually close to sending this back, I sent eonon another email with pictures and they said they would contact their factory, I waited about 1 week maybe just over and then I ended up buying an xtrons dash fascia and it actually fits its perfect, it cost about £30 for the fascia, alot better than the ones on ebay that some of them are £80+ so no help from eonon and I got a fascia from their competitor which is laughable.The other issue I had was I wanted to install a reversing camera, the documentation is quite good its in english and the working is readable, a little box comes with it saying relay, but there is no mention in book about his relay and what to do with it, on the box it says out and in, and on the out side red wire reverse camera in and yellow b+ on the in side it says camera feed + and - with a red and black lead, well I tried to get this to work I emailed eonon again they showed me a picture that makes no sense at all, I got a picture up when it was wired into the reversing wire, but after a few seconds the picture would freeze and stop, I nearly sent this back too,so I ended up wiring it into the ANT wire which is a live wire so its on when the car is on, I put it on a splitter so you can drive along and see what's behind you for the passenger if they so wish.Overall the unit is great it works and it looks good, but what the actual hell is with eonon you supply a radio for a specific car but do not know which fascia fits that car and the relay needs some serious work that went in the bin. Eonon really need to up their game if they want to survive in this world, if I could a rate my experience in talking to eonon it would be a 0 very frustrating company to deal with.

Great upgrade easy to install. Just get yourself some trim remover, makes it so much easier

Slow start up, time reverts to 07:43 and date to 10/23/2023 every time the unit starts up. Radio playback never works unless you touch the radio app
