An Excellent Value - A Quality Tool
After adopting a new hobby of knife making, it was clear that I needed more precision and ease of cutting than my 35 year old Wiss tin snips could provide. I regularly use the new snips to cut 18 gauge brass sheets and thicker G10 sheets for spacers in my knife handles. I am continually amazed by the precision cuts I'm able to get - sometimes just thin slivers with sharp clean edges. The fine serrations on the cutting edge provide a nice bite in the metal and G10 sheets. I am able to make really straight cuts but I'm also surprised how easy it is to make fairly small curve and angle cuts as well (see picture) without gouging, crimping or bending the metal. The automatic lock release is a welcome feature - just give a light squeeze of the handles and the lock is released. Some reviewers mentioned that these snips require BIG hands, however I've not had any problem reaching across the handles. If it's too much of a stretch for some, just choke up a little to start the cut and then move out on the handles to get more leverage. While the AMT snips are made in China, it's obvious that they are built to AMT's exacting tolerances and specifications. I'm really happy with my choice of tin snips!

It works!
Good for cutting 1/4 inch hardware cloth. A little large for my woman’s size medium-large hands, but comfortable for my husband’s men’s size large hands. Much faster and more efficient than smaller-bladed snips.

No issues
Great buy, easily cuts through all thin metal like flanges.

they did the job
They were a little hard for me to use, but they did what I bought them for: to cut up a credit card. Credit cards are becoming quite difficult to cut up, and I didn't want to possibly ruin my paper shredder, so I bought these. They are very sturdy, no directions needed to figure out how to use, but as I cut the card, parts went flying in the air -- that how tough the card was to cut. I don't regret purchasing them, just be aware that when using them for cutting credit cards, it'll still be difficult. (My poultry scissors did nothing to cut up the card, that's why I knew I needed something tougher, to do the job properly.)
