In a way, I can see why the folks at Helinox sell everything separately…this way, you can pick and choose exactly what you need. But, in my humble opinion, you'll almost always find that the legs of your chair sink into the ground when you sit on it. It doesn't take much…a heavy rain in a grassy area, for example, is almost guaranteed to give way to chair legs pressing down with the weight of a sitting adult. So I find the ground sheet accessory is really a "must have"…and it really does work very nicely! It might not be obvious how the sheet works, but at each corner, you'll find some rubber pads that give the bottom of each leg of the chair a lot more surface area to distribute downward force…the mesh…with strap (which you loop around the chair crossbar as pictured by Helinox)…gives the whole chair an amazing stability…it's actually extremely clever. The sheet packs nicely into the Helinox chair's carrying case. It is a little pricey, but it's really worth it. A bit of advice to close out this review. The fits are all very tight (which is good…because they make the chair feel just extraordinary stable)…but it may seem difficult to get the sheet fitted to all four chair legs. To make that easier, each corner of the sheet comes with a little pull loop that you can tug just to get that "little extra" bit of leverage to fit the pad over all four legs.
