Great product. Does work well and tastes great but these are very hard to find in our area for some reason. A bit expensive but worth it.

I highly endorse this brand of elderberry extract! I have been using them for the past 6 years with great results after my Plant Physiology professor recommended them. I take 2 tablets at the first signs of illness, followed by another 1-2 tablets each day until I feel better. I've never had a bad cold or flu develop while I having these on hand, very worth the money! All of the Sambucol products work, I just like the chewable tablets in particular; the flavor is slightly sour, which I enjoy. Note: I get my flu shot every year and you should too if you are able! Look up herd immunity, get your flu shot, and take these supplements to further boost your immunity to all other threats.

This product is pure perfection. It has two uses: 1. If you have a cold-cough-sore throat, take this according to directions until all symptoms are gone. It's soothing and it works! It also tastes wonderful. 2. If you want to build up your immune system, take this once a day, solely for that purpose. It works. (It comes in chewable tablets for that purpose, if you prefer that over the syrup). Important Note: For those who have Diabetes, or are a pre-diabetic, there is a sugar-free version of this syrup which works just the same as the one with sugar! I also recommend the other Sambucol Black Elderberry Products such as the Cold & Flu Tablets, etc. to keep as must-have staples in your medicine cabinet. I wouldn't be without any of them!

This is my go to for when I begin to an upper respiratory. As soon as I begin to feel a tad of a drip... I begin taking the intensive dosage as stated on the back of the bottle. It either helps with the severity or the duration of the cold. It compares to a great tasting grape juice. I have started taking it as a maintenance to boost my immunity this winter. This is recommended by naturalpathic doctors.

I have used this product for 6 months now and it is very effective against the common cold with a few limitations. First, it is crucial to couple with echinacea and goldenseal,zinc and vitamin C because you don't know what your treating with the vast emergence of super bugs it is best to proceed this way since no one herb can be successful against the barrage of germs currently cooking plus those already in residence. Having said that, I will say this product is excellent at preventing illness and keeping an illness and even the flu from taking a real hold if taken at the right time and that is almost immediately. The problem with this is many times symptoms are hidden until they have made themselves painfully at home. So, my best advice is to take this when you first have contact south someone who is ill. This has saved me many times when my children have become sick however, when my son caught pneumonia it was successful only in preventing fever, chills, aches pains and the majority of awful symptoms that accompany pneumonia. It cannot however, help your lungs. Use this with wisdom, if you feel fine but are wheezing you may need additional help. This is not going to help you with that but it will support you through the common cold and other illnesses without the exaggerated use of antibiotics.

Tablets are never chipped or broken like other chewable supplements. The taste is similar to a tart candy but not very sweet.

This is very effective for me. I am a grandmother, and whenever I visit the grandkids, I catch their colds, fevers and flus. Not fun. This last visit, I went armed with my Elderberry (Sambucol) and I used it has a preventative measure, taking 3 tablets each day. I am happy to report, I didn't catch the kids' colds, nor did I come home with a virus from the airport or plane flights. I also remained healthy throughout the last holiday season spent with numerous family members. I felt a sore throat coming on, so I started taking Sambucol immediately, following directions. In a couple of days I was good as new. I am not one to write reviews, but this product has made a big difference in my life. I highly recommend it. No side effects!

This product definitely boosts resistance to the common cold viruses that a public school plays host to. In years past I would be sick with one bug or another starting in October and continuing through May. This is my second fall/winter season taking Black Elderberry, and the difference is amazing. I take one tablet every day starting in September, and if I start to get that tell-tale feeling in the back of my sinuses or throat, I step it up to taking 2 a day. I haven't had a full blown cold / bronchitis / sinus infection since 2013. I get little hints of a cold - a sniffle or a sneeze - but it never develops into a full blown cold because I double up on the Sambucol as soon as I feel it coming on. I also double up when there're a lot of kids in my classroom who are sick, as a boost of protection. I highly recommend using this product if you work with kids, or if you're generally susceptible to winter viruses. If you're a parent with young kids, it's a great way to keep the family from spreading and re-spreading colds. It's a small price to pay to keep everyone from feeling miserable and sick.
