Best laptop for around this price.
Good things:- 8 core cpu competes with core i7 10th gen- good gaming but not great performance for the price- nice build quality not, very less flex- good thermal management- massive display + 144hz = better gaming- good customization and control software- good trackpadThings lacking:- no space for hdd- battery same as in 15 inch laptop, the company could have easily put a bigger battery for longer usage- speaker not good but a little tweaking with dolby software will give better results- not so color accurate display

It’s just an amazing product and I recommend
The media could not be loaded. It is the best laptop for the price the only problem I have is that they should have given 1tb internal memory and 16gb ram because it’s been 2 days and I’m already out of storage and there is a small amount of screen bleeding as expected from a IPS panel and there is some screen flickering issue so I recommend everyone taking this laptop to update your drivers and programs as soon as you receive your laptop update it to the latest version and check whether it is updated to the latest version other wise you will experience screen flickering issue . These are the only issue I have with this laptop and it’s an amazing product so I would recommend to anyone blind folded.

A great do it all laptop. Not for everyone
The Asus Strix G17 is a great laptop for those who wanna do everything- gaming, editing, college, multimedia. Its quite powerful, fast, has excellent build quality, great looks and rgb lighting, a good display, excellent speakers, decent battery life, great keyboard and trackpad, one of the best in the price range. However, as a gaming laptop it does have its drawbacks. The main drawbacks are that its quite heavy and that it doesn't have a webcam so you gotta buy one yourself. The battery life is good, but of course not as much as a contemporary laptop, but good considering its a gaming laptop. The fans however are really loud while gaming, but otherwise, the laptop is completely silent.Overall, its a great laptop for anyone who doesn't travel around a lot and needs a powerful machine to do it all

Happy with this purchase.
Likes (+)+ Keyboard (7/10) : RGB lights, well spaced keys with proper key travel distance. I can touch-type on the keyboard with no problems whatsover. Although backlit has a problem. See the dislikes portion of my review.+ Power management (8/10) : I liked the way this laptop manages power. When it's running on battery, it automatically switches from discrete graphics to builtin graphics. It reduces the refresh rate of display from 144Hz to 60Hz. I never play video games on battery though. I was able to use this laptop for 4 hours with 25% of battery life still to spare. At idle with keyboard backlit off, Zone light off, 60Hz refresh rate, Lower screen brightness, playing audio through headphone and with battery saver mode; I saw the battery life of 8 hours.+ 17 Inch screen (8/10) : I never had any experience of using a 17 inch screen before. Screen surely feels large and after few days of usage, 15 inch screen that I was used to feels small. I'm not into photography or video editing so I can't say much about the color although it seems proper to me. Gaming on 144Hz display is amazing.+ Performance (9/10) : Compared to my other Asus A15 laptop, this one surely performs much better. My other A15 laptop has the same AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor. (See attachments).+ Graphical performance (8/10) : I am very satisfied with RTX 3050 although it's an entry level RTX graphic chipset. I was able to play Control at medium setting with steady 60-70 FPS at 1080p resolution. CSGO at 270-300 FPS at low setting and 1280x720 resolution. Sifu and Dirt 4 90-100 FPS.+ Ports (10/10) : This laptop has power input, HDMI and Type-C port at the back instead of side. This means I can now keep all those cables behind the table. One of the most irritating problem I sometimes had with laptops with HDMI and power at one side was; it sometimes used to obstruct mouse movement during gaming.+ Backpanel (10/10) : has an illuminated "ASUS Republic of Gamer" logo which looks cool. It puts you in a spot light when surrounded by people. Backpanel also has the word "ROG" printed as a pyramid like pattern.Dislikes (-)- Keyboard backlit : The only problem I saw with the keyboard backlit was few keys does not appear to be clear. At 45 degree angle, I can only see T and B letter of TAB key. But if I look at it from at 90 degree angle I can see it clearly. Same issue with Cap Lock and other keys (Pictures attached).- No MUX switch, but I already knew about it before placing the order. Although a MUX switch would have been nice.- Mcafee : This laptop includes 12 months Mcafee Livespace security. It frequently throws out popup notifications when I open a third-party apps. It frequently shows you tips (sales pitch I guess) to improve security, tune performance etc. I will surely get rid of it once my 12 months subscription is over. I'm happy with Windows Defender on my other systems.Neutral (No likes, no dislike)<> Zone light/Base Light (5/10) : This light seemed unnecessary to me and I had already decided to turn that off even before receiving the laptop. Although it's not that bad. It looks cool but unnecessary.<> Dolby Atmos (5/10) : I tested Dolby atmos using a lossless video sample and I can surely feel some wide sound space. There is some immersion although not much. That being said, audio playback through this laptop's speaker is a bit quiet but still audible. I played "Ori and the will of the Wisps" and I can surely feel some dolby atmosiness. Although its not impressive enough to get excited about.I hope you this review helpful with your buying decision. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Not up to the hype, heavy screen bleeding
The media could not be loaded. Screen bleeding and driver problems, while gaming suddenly my game became choppy so i tried to check my nvidia experience but it didn't recognise my graphics driver . It asked me to update all the driver but all my drivers were updated, i found some solutions in YouTube and fixed it. But it happened again, it's so annoying and I returned my strix g17 rtx3050. So please check for screen bleeding as soon as you get the device and the seller will not replace the device you can only ask for a refund, and the cheap variant comes with a 56 wh battery it'll be enough for 1-2 hr of usage, the only advantage of this laptop is the gaming performance and the bulid quality but both the advantages become the disadvantage cause screen bleeding is a build and a common problem and you cannot do anything about it, it'll be like order a laptop and hope yours doesn't screen bleed, and the performance again the driver problems ruins it again. So it's a doubt that I suggest you to buy this strix g17 rtx3050 laptop. If you don't mind all these issues then go ahead.

Best gaming laptop in the segment.
This is i think the best gaming laptop in the segment, with such good graphical processing, screen quality and on top of that 17.2 inch display. Awesome performance while running engineering softwares like Ansys, MATLAB, fusion 360, etc. Able to run two operating systems with ease.

Great Laptop, But go for 2022 version now
Its amazing laptop, bit on heavier side and definitely not best suited for mobility. Although I would suggest you to go for 2022 version as it have the latest core that supposedly gives performance boost of 15%, and have good battery life.
