Low quality but works mostly as advertised
It works mostly as advertised. It ships with a mini-cdrom which might as well be a floppy disk since all my computers either don't have a cdrom or won't accept a mini-cdrom. I found serviceable documentation on the internets but I fear the day I need tech support; likely it's just trash if I can't figure something out on my own. I purchased a SIM from T-Mobile and it mostly just worked. I don't have a gsm phone to debug the SIM with so I'm pretty happy about that bit.My unit came with a battery which was unexpected and useful for my application, I just hope it doesn't melt or explode. I am a bit concerned about the build quality as the pcb was rattling around in the case since one of the screws were missing a few were loose. One detail that wasn't obvious is that via text you can only turn on or off the relays. That is, you must send two texts to toggle the relay(s). And, as described, only relay1 can be auto-toggled and only via a call. The other six relays must be explicitly turned closed then open via text.

Will not connect to network.
I ordered this device and it worked as it should when I set it up. A couple of days later I tried to add numbers to the Whitelist and it would not connect to the network. I was sent another one and it would not connect the first time i tried it.I emailed the manufacturer and never received a response. The device does not work and has no support.

Good value, but missing an advertised feature
Works as advertised except that it doesn't return the confirmation when the relay changes state. I'm using Mode 1 and only using relay 1. Relay 1 willl change state when the SIM card is called, or will change to ON or OFF if a specific instruction is sent via SMS. Problem is, it doesn't confirm that the relay has changed via a return SMS and it is supposed to do so according to the instructions. This requires me to send a second SMS asking for the status of all relays. This feature works, but not the auto reply. It will only respond to a white list of phone numbers which is a very nice feature. It requires a password to be set which offers further security. Another very nice feature. Relay 1 will activate via phone call or SMS instruction. The other 6 relays, if used, will activate on specific SMS instructions, but not by a phone call.

Works great with many features.
This is a 7 channel switch that I use in an airplane hangar to operate several heaters. It works great. This device has a 10A limit for each of 7 channels. This company sells another device with 2 30A switches that may be better for most applications due to higher Amp capacity. Most users probably do not need 7 channels. I use text messages to send commands and get text confirmations for individual channels. The tex dialog on the phone is the record log that can be used to as a reminder of what was switched on and off. The device can be queried and programmed for mode changes via texts. Switches can be programmed to be momentary, continuously closed or operated on timers. Phone operation via touch tones is possible. Operation with rings only works on channel 1. The unit has caller ID lists that prevent channel one operation by a person that calls a wrong number.Full length manual on USB stick is better than quick start paper manual.

It does work but...
This thing does actually work. But be prepared to do some tinkering. First to know is that you MUST purchase a SIM card from your cellular provider. Mine was from AT&T and costs me $20 a month. The instructions have obviously been translated a time or two and are very confusing especially if you need to get the box to do some more complicated functions like timers, etc..You can send a single text message and have one or a selected number of relays turn on. You send another text to have them turn off. Easy. It takes about 10 seconds for the box to react. It is fairly well made and the box is pretty tight and weatherproof. Comes with an external antenna but no 12volt power supply.Minus a star for poor instructions and one for no power supply.

Does not work , No response after 4 emails to 2 different representatives over a month period
I have purchased both an AT&T sim card and Verizon sim card and have diligently tried to get the unit to work. Tried twice with the AT&T representative and made sure the IMEI # was correct. The manual is unhelpful. I have tried both cellular and computer programing. I sent 4 emails to the manual suggested email addresses - George and Frank with no response over a month. Franks email was returned. I then tried to contact seller via amazon and was directed to another purchase. FED UP! I highly recommend going with another unit. I am going to return and get try another unit.George,Please see attached photos of the KiaoTime GSM-RELAY-US4G New USA AT&T 4G 7CH Output GSM SMS Remote Control Relay Contact that I am trying to get working.Initially, I began with a rtu 5024 with a Verizon wireless simcard. I got this unit working when "it" wants to. I upgraded to this unit and used the Verizon card. I could not get this unit to respond via text message. I then did more research and found that the Verizon sim card may not work in this unit so I purchased an AT&T sim card. I have yet to receive a text with the at&t sim card. I have attached a screenshot of the text messages I have sent. I have tried turning unit on and off, pushed the jp7/key (thinking it is a reset button). The d4 light blinks for 1 second and the d101 is continuous. The d6 light will not blink. I cannot get the software to install on my macintosh computer.

GSM RELAY is amazing
Wow, amazing unit. I'm using gsm to control a ground to fire 12 volt relays, that controls a 12 volt motor. I have limit switches in ground cicuit for a double safety. Also using with a speed talk wireless SIM card. Works great in eastern Montana! The customer service was second to none! I will most definitely be purchasing more of these units....Update: ordered the 4G relay to control a linear actuator. Works great!
