Westinghouse 70481-00 Swag-Light Kit, 12', Antique Brass

I rebuild rain lamps and recently I had to to rebuild one that somebody had lost/removed the original 10ft+ chain and replace it with a 3 ft chain which was basically useless. This kit saved the day, it was heavy duty, long enough to loop once and run down a wall from the ceiling. The color was almost exactly as the original and the only reason I don't give this 5 Stars is that the individual chain loops almost did not really allow the switch to be used if you mounted it before you threaded the chain. I had to actually stretch a couple of them a minute amount to get it through, should be a warning attached that says "DO NOT INSTALL SWITCH UNTIL YOU HAVE THREADED THE CORD THROUGH THE CHAIN" which would have saved me some time. I should mention that if you are looking for some decent hooks for hanging lamps up to about 25-30 lbs I recommend these, worked perfectly and looking exactly like the ones I bought 25+ years ago  Westinghouse Lighting Corp 70454 2PK 1-1/2-Inch Swag Hook, Oil Rubbed Bronze  but I should mention that since this kit is the same manufacturer (Westinghouse) you get a set of these with this kit so this is about as good a quality kit as you will find and nobody at the local Lowe's or Home Depot sold a kit with a 12 ft chain in it.

I was all excited then I opened the package and the wire is an avocado green. I guess I expected something that would match better and not so obtrusive.

This is an item that makes hanging light fixtures in difficult locations quite easy. It does require some very limited electrical wiring knowledge and working from a ladder to hang the fixture. The kit is complete except for any hangers needed to route the chain. Looks good when installed.

cord and chain are fine, but beware the pot-metal hooks...just tightening them by hand they broke off! buy some reliable ones before you risk your lamp falling on your head.

The antique brass finish looks right at home with my pendant lights from the ‘50s. Definitely not a gold, and the cord is army green, but that blends well with our decor. Love these.

Great quality product at a good price. We trust this brand and it's held up. Heard from other reviewers that the swag hook wasn't great quality so we bought a separate one listed on the product page. It ended up looking ok!

Amazon often offers another product when one is purchasing something like the Tiffany style hanging lamp I purchased. This time, the cord on the lamp was dark brown and this cord extension was a dark army green. The product itself was in good order and could have been used on something where a dark army green cord was appropriate.

Wire great, chain great but the piece I needed was missing - the rotary switch - not cool!!Package was not opened. Not happy camper.
