Worked perfectly
I tried connecting to an old cnc machine loader interface with an old laptop and old cable and it didn't work so I was very sceptical about using this new cable with a new laptop/windows 11. The cable was plug and play, no driver download needed and the connection to my machine worked perfectly. I don't normally write reviews but this one took me by surprise and deserved sharing.

Works well, I've used upto 500k baud
Very good. FTDI chipset means these just plugged in to my Windows 11 machine and worked immediately. I've used it at up to 500k baud without any problems. From the little manual, it is also a fully wired RS232, not just a couple of signals that some provide although I have not personally verified that. Length is perfect to plu into my tower PC on the floor and plug into items on the desk. Appears durable with goo cable and no bigger than a numal RS232 plug. Has thumbscrews to fix tightly to RS232 socket.

Works with Windows 11
My company upgraded my laptop to Windows 11 and my Prolific chipped dongle stopped working. IT tried for over an hour to get it working and in the end, as I was in a bit of a pickle, I ordered this one. It worked first time, Windows found it and no drivers had to be loaded.

Works flawlessly with Apple Silicon
I've never had much luck with USB-serial adapters, but this works every time with my MacBook. No software required.

Be careful where you find your FTDI drivers, which need to be downloaded.
Supplied without drivers, and no pointer to FTDI's site, which is itself usually unreachable or down. I had to snag a copy from SparkFun Electronics. I have no serial devices on hand with which to test, so I can't be certain it's not a DoA on the J-curve.
