Fantastic Budget Upgrade
I put this on my base specialized rockhopper about 4 months ago and have gone on about a dozen rides now since the start of the 2022 year. My bike was originally a 2x8 that I finally converted it to a 1x system using this group set and it’s incredible. It might not have top tier shifting or variability, but that 11-50 (51?) range is outstanding. Being able to climb the steep stuff is a real game changer, especially since I couldn’t really do it with the original group set at all (I converted the bike to a 1x8 for a while before getting this group set).Plus the red accents are really nice.Upsides:- Fits most 8 gear cassette hubs without any adjustments (it’ll fit most entry level bikes).- Easy to install yourself if you have the cassette tool and a chain whip (or equivalent) handy. Otherwise a local shop can do it for you for cheap.- Increases the capability of a bike immensely. This can turn the bike into a proper 1x system, removing the front derailleur. A dropper or other accessory can be put in its place.- The new range will allow for some pretty steep climbing. That’s the biggest capability improvement.- It’s really affordable compared to alternatives. I spend months looking for an affordable group set before finding this. Many other group sets similar to this cost at least double what this is going for. Even the used market isn’t as competitive (unless you have a really good rate gem).Downsides:- It isn’t shipped very well. When I got the parts, they were pretty dinged up because of all the jostling inside the box. My shifter and derailleur looked used when I opened the box (I’m still not fully convinced they weren’t used).- The largest gear on the cassette was also damaged, having a pretty noticeable wobble likely due to being bent during an impact when shipping. It doesn’t effect the performance, but it still sucks.- On my 2nd or 3rd ride, I broke the chain. I took a relatively small fall navigating some rocks, and the chain broke after I went OTB (my front wheel fell into a dip). Again, not a serious fall, but I think the way the rocks caught the pedal as the bike fell away from me put excessive force on the chain and snapped the master link. I’m pretty sure it was an unlucky fall and a faulty link to blame, but it’s still worth noting.- Finally, this will want to make you buy more mtb stuff. I probably spend another $30-$40 on red accent parts that were completely unnecessary just so that my bike had a theme. Some might see this as an upside, though.

Awesome for the price
I've bought 3 of these exact set and they've performed amazing on all my bikes, one trail, one Enduro, and a freeride bike all running smooth. From jumps and trails to technical terrain and drops they've all held up quite nicely.

Good for a budget build
I have this on a gravel bike I wanted to build on a tight budget. This groupset goes together nicely. It's the 11-50. I'm not sure if it was just because of my derailleur hangers position or if this is a common issue, but when I was trying to upshift from 1st it would get stuck in 2nd and would try to upshift further the derailleur cage would get stuck on 1st and it wouldn't shift past 2nd with out stopping and moving the derailleur by hand. I just cut the cage to make room and it's perfect now. Honestly I really like this and I hope it holds up nicely into the future.

Good Quality, Could be better.
This cassete groupset is very good. My one complaint is that the derailleur was hard to install on my 2013 Giant XC bike. once I got it on it worked well except for the limiting screws were somewhat hard to work with without my screwdriver slipping, however it does work well much better than my original 12-36t cassette.

Easy to install
Good quality in general and easy to install, shifts well, I'd improve the quality of the high, low, and B limit screw only.

Shifts nice with some tinkering.
Updated an old 8 speed setup for my klunker. Couldn't get it to shift consistently until I adjusted the "B tension" screw way out. It's actually shifting quite good, now.

So far so good!
Recent update: have been using the groupset on a 1x rigid setup on singletrack and it has been nothing but excellent. Great value, really good performance!Groupset seems alright and in decent quality, will update review if I can receive the chain that was supposed to also come with the set.Update! At first I didn't receive the chain, the seller responded very promptly and set me up with a chain! Will update once I use the group set :)
