works wonderfully
I needed a spigot that i could attach only from the outside and happened across this only because i was buying their water barrel water diverter because I was adding a second barrel that was already sealed except for the hole in the top for the input hose. (Which by the way the water diverter also can be installed just from the outside of the barrels.) As long as you have 1 & 1/2 inch hole saw and follow the directions it works great and no leaks - TIP: when they say wrap the plumbers tape 2 - 3 times only do that many!!!! - It is all designed to fit together tightly and you do more than that and you cannot screw the spigot base into the rubber seal. Also has a big on/off lever on the spigot that is large and easy to turn.

Works great what can I say
It is a great spigot and creates the pressure necessary to operate a timer and provide adequate dripping in my drip systrm. People complain of leakage, but with any kind of plumbing you have to wrap the Teflon tape anywhere where you are going to screw the spigot into and something onto. I don't have any leakage on mine and it works great. I am ordering another one, and I hope to receive the same quality.Package did arrive without extension but seller was quick to respond and offer a fair solution.

You need a 1-1/2" hole saw, not 1-3/16" as indicated in the description. Cool.
For all I know this spigot might be mindblowing and incredible, but because of the wrong part description on this page, indicating I need a 1-3/16" inch holesaw, while the instructions that come with it say and in actuality I need a 1-1/2" holesaw and I needlessly bought the wrong part for the job I'll never know.Real cool guys, real cool.UPDATE: Okay I went Rambo on this thing and got it into my barrel after all kinds of absolute crap. I had to seal it up with caulk but I suppose everything seems all right. Still... fix the description that sucked and I had to install it completely whack. I'm sure once everything dries and a few days pass I'll be okay with what just had to happen today.

Very easy to install
Bought two kits, one is dripping through the valve. I'll update to a 5 star when I make contact with the company regarding the leaky one. I've called a few times and even left a voicemail.Very easy to install, no issues. I did not use a spade bit, I used a hole saw to make the hole in my barrel. If you prefer not to "run around town" looking for one, here is what I bought on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FMH58GW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1=====downgraded to 1 star due to no response from the company. Left voicemail, email, and called 3 or 4 times.

good solution to common problem
I got some closed-top barrels for free, so I was happy to see that someone had solved the spigot-install problem already.I declined to buy the 1 3/16" spade bit that the kit recommends; I used a 1 1/8" bit and an abrasive spindle in the chuck of a cordless drill to expand the hole slightly. The install took some effort, and keeping the rubber gasket from getting cross-threaded with the spigot piece was a little fiddly. I did a few cycles of putting the gasket in the hole, trying to thread in the spigot, realizing the hole was too tight or cross-threaded, removing the gasket, and making the hole larger. This got frustrating, but it was my own fault for cheaping out on the spade bit. On the whole, it added about 10 minutes to the install, but saved me 10 bucks.I've had one good rain since installing the kit, and I've used the spigot daily since then. No issues, no leaks.

Long term
Well after five years outside, this item finally deteriorated where the threads are no long usable to attach a hose, looks like uv damage.

Great way to transport water or use rain water
I first purchased two of these to put on my 55 gal drums to transport water down to my cows trough. I load them in the back of the pickup and fill them with water- attach a hose and presto- over a 100 gallons of water ready to deliver. I just purchased two more for my rain barrels outside my greenhouse. You do need to purchase the correct drill bit for drilling the hole- which I did. My husband actually installed them and said it was a snap. You don't need to get inside to do this- all my barrels have sealed on tops with just two 3 inch holes on top, so I couldn't get down to the bottom anyways. I've been using the first two for over 6 months now and they work great!

Great flow, easy & fast On/Off
Faucet function is fine...however:1. The bit size you need is not easy to find! No hardware stores had one. I had to use an adjustable hole saw I was lucky enough to have. Poor design as far as that goes.2. Once installed you'll find that the slightest movement of the hose trends to torque, bend, and dislodge the faucet from the barrel...weakening the seal. I.e., there's no proper support for the faucet. I ended up winding the hose around the barrel twice and used a pipe clamp to anchor it to the base upon which the barrels sit to isolate the faucet.Flow and ease of use make up for all that though since I was able to overcome the other things.
