A Great Songbook
I have purchased many songbooks to play on my piano. I must confess, buying a book of sheet music sight unseen, is a coin flip: some have many good arrangements and some don't. I, unfortunately, have had my share of the latter. The titles of the tunes lure you in, but the arrangements are often poor. This book is an exception if you like the standards that Tony Bennett sings. The arrangements, for the most part, are well-constructed and melodic. There are a few arrangements that are exceptional, and I have not found one poor arrangement in the book. If you are playing at an intermediate level you may be somewhat challenged by a few arrangements. On the other hand, if you want to improve your skill, then this book is for you. I would estimate that most arrangements are written at an early advanced level. Some chording can be a bit challenging, but worth the effort to master the tunes. I think you will enjoy this book.
