Out of the box, love it! Will update after 1st trip. Has 90/10 split, with lots of useable pockets on 10 split.

I really wanted to give this suitcase 5 stars. I love the hard sides. I love how it opens like a soft sided suitcase. I love the blue color! I love how the wheels glide effortlessly across the airport floors! It was the perfect suitcase for our family trips. We bought two and it fit everything we needed for a family of 4. Yes, everything about this suitcase was 5 stars!!!!! Until our return trip......After our return flight, the handle on the top would not extend. We tried several times but ended up just pushing it back to the car to figure it out when we got home. There is no visible damage to the suitcase and no clear reason why it won't extend. Thank goodness for that 10 year warranty, we thought! Well, I guess it is good if you live in one of the cities that has a Delsey repair shop. We, however, do not. So yes, they will repair it for free - AFTER YOU PAY TO SHIP it to the repair shop. Even worse? What happens if they decide that it isn't covered? People at a store a few hundred miles away have the suitcase hostage that we have to pay them to repair and pay them to ship back to us. Hmmmm. Not my idea of awesome, honestly.While a 10 year warranty sounds awesome, I suggest checking their repair locations first to see if there is one close to you. If there is, we highly recommend the suitcase. 5 stars for being near a repair location! If you don't live near one of their locations, be warned of the hassle to use their 10 year warranty.

This Delsey doesn't appear to be durable as Samsonite but then again I just got it so we'll see how well it holds up. I bought this because it's the only hard side that's "top loading". By that I mean that while all other hard side luggage open in the middle, the Delsey Cruise Lite opens like soft sided luggage. It's better suited to the way I pack which is to fill the luggage up and close the lid rather than splitting the load 50/50 then trying to close the luggage without spilling it's contents. I also have the 25" version of the Cruise Lite and like it a lot more than my Samsonite of similar size simply because it's easier to load.

Zipper fabric torn by airline on first use. The zipper quality, lock mechanism and internal compartment of the bag was a lesser quality than that of the earlier version.

I fell in love with the design of this suitcase but was horribly disappointed when the shell cracked in transit during its second use. I expected more from Delsey. My soft-sided Delsey is 20+ years old and still in great shape. Now I don’t trust checking this one, which makes it pointless. UPDATE: Since the second use was after the return window, it was quite a hassle to return this. Eventually I was able to return it but only received $160 of the $202 purchase price from Amazon.
