I finally have the time to review this wonderful Kratos figure. I had pre-ordered this from anime island on June 7th. But I am a very busy guy. Anyway I usually wait for reviews before purchasing anything. Let alone a toy, which is something I seldom buy. But I had a good feeling about this one.So without further ado, I present to you the new Kratos: God of war III figure by Play arts:1) Strong joints especially the knees.2) The well definied Muscles are are the most prominent feature.3) Great painting and shades on face and shin.4) Kratos comes withA) A pair of hands - and they are interchangable ofcourse.B) Blades of Chaos (well sculptured)C) chains - they connect from the blades of chaos to the wrist. The color and shape of the chains match the sculptured chains on his wrist.They add a touch of realism to the chains.D) Blades of Hades - Unfortunately he can't hold them, but they look great and they are meant to be attached to his back.5) His articulation points are numerous and not loose, they are stable.Finally, the expression on Kratos's face is slightly different from the one you see here in the picture.Looking into his face directly, you see an expression of determination and focus.The face is undoubtly sculptured well. And It is definitely not for kids. The label on the Box says 13 and up :)

This is the best Kratos figure I had so far, unless Hot toys make another one. The figure is solid and very details accurate, I'm highly recommended for every God of War fans to get this figure instead of the Neca one. Here is a tip to get rip of all the black stuff on the figure's face and the body, go buy a bottle of nail polish remover " acetone" and Cotton swabs. First dip the cotton swab in the acetone and then rub it on the figure, it will remove the black shading on the face and keep repeat those step until all the shading on the figure is remove. for the price thought it would look more like kratos. his face look like a splat and his body looks like kratos on crack and not build like the game

So. This Play Arts Kai rendition of Kratos is pretty much the best Kratos figure around buuuut that doesn't mean he's without some major flaws.Pros: His overall build is awesome. His abs, his pecs, his biceps... I'll be the first to admit I've always found his build to be... "admirable". He's muscular and ripped beyond belief and he hulks overtop my shorter Kai figures. His mold is pretty damn spot-on. When I first got him I just turned him around in my hands for a while just admiring the sculpt of his body. His paint job is done pretty well too aside from the odd shadowey effect Square likes to add to most of their figures for some reason. His assecories and extra hands are painted well too. His level of poseability is pretty amazing although it comes with some contraints....Cons: Beware, you need to be extra careful moving his right arm (the one with the armor) because I've had this part of him break on me twice now. I got another Kratos thinking mine was just defective but he broke in the exact same spot in the exact same way. Luckily a lil' crazy glue can firmly secure his arm back in his shoulder socket but it does prevent that joint from turning the way it's intended. Not only that but his wrist joints are incredibly weak. Just turning it against itself with the most minute amount of force makes it nearly come apart. This still concerns me though because how the hell am I supposed to change his hands out if I don't wanna' break his wrists in the process? I've had to buy 2 Kratos's because of these issues which is a shame but I have 2 of him now so the more Gods of War, the merrier? lolHe includes the Blades of Chaos, another pair of hands, a pair of chains to attatch to his blades, the Claws of Hades, and a peg to keep the claws on his back. The packaging is flawless as most Kai figures come in nifty window boxes these days.Overall, still a pretty damn good Kratos but be weary of his faulty joints!

Okay, he's big. Now, joints are great, detail is great and my only complaint is he's face has a shadow or some kind shade look on it. I think they should have left it out. Overall kratos is worth the money. Best kratos figure ever made and god of war fans will go nuts with this figure and play arts fans will also. I love this figure! Not ment for kids to beat it up, only ment for colletors who can play and pose and not destroy. A must have!!!

Articulation is great, paint is great and sculpt is very well done, maybe he could look stronger but that's not something I'm sure, apart from the hands popping up very easily is a great figure.

The reason I purchased this figure was because I thought of all the figures I had seen, this one looked the most like Kratos. The body and muscles are great. The problem is all in the face. The face shows no emotion like the pics and box would have you expect. The paint job on the face is also not very good. His face should be mostly white. Well you can tell they were trying to shade a bit too much. My figure has a large black area right in front of his face.

Nice detail and size, more articulation would be nice but VERY happy with purchase.
