Gerrit Verburg Gustaf's Sour Strawberry Laces, 2 Lb

I’d never tried Gustaf’s red licorice before, but I kept reading complaints about orders of the original version arriving with the strands in one giant stuck-together clump. This sour version didn’t come in a melted clump, mostly because of the sour sugar, but they are in one giant twisted bundle . You definitely want to remove these from the package over a sink. Otherwise you will have a pretty hard time eating them because you have to either pull the strands out individually, which is tough because it’s two pounds of licorice twisted together AND sugar will get everywhere. I really suggest pulling the bunch out of the plastic and untangling them over a sink, then putting them into a ziplock bag. SO much easier to eat. And SO delicious. Fantastic strawberry flavor and perfect level of sour. Definite tooth soreness afterwards, which is the mark of a great sour candy. Definitely recommend!

Hard, not sour. Just a bunch of candy i will end up tossing in the trash. Sadly

These were very tasty. Compared to the plain Gustaf strawberry licorice, these are a nice alternative. Not incredibly sour, but definitely more so than their plain counterparts. The sugar and strawberry flavor are delicious. I will say that they have a bit of a bite to them when eating, so don’t expect a super soft licorice. I’d compare it to eating an Al Dente pasta noodle. Overall if you’re looking for a sweeter version of Gustafs licorice, this is the way to go. (Disclaimer: the sugar will get everywhere so have bags ready to separate the laces once they arrive.)

Every Flavor I purchased (stupidly two each), has a bitter end, and Amazon refuses to refund because it "can't be returned". All three flavors; licorice, strawberry and sour strawberry are bitter at the end, like a chemical was added? The sour blue raspberry is fine though? I don't understand.

Perfect! I had tried these through Candy Club and just needed to have them in bulk. Perfectly sweet and sour. It did not come with a resealable bag though. That's ok they won't last long in our home.

The sour strawberry flavor is fantastic! Sour Punch Straws are my favorite candy, so I decided to try this. This candy is delicious!

Received this today. It was a solid brick of stale licorice! I’ve had great luck with Gustav’s licorice ropes before, so maybe it’s just this flavor. Wouldn’t recommend this product at all.
