Very useful if you have an stove with electric coils and glassware
I have a really pretty teakettle made of glass that is meant to be used over a gas range. This coil allows me to use my teakettle over a range with metal coils without damage. It is a remarkably simple product made of stainless steel wire and provides a small amount of separation between the glass and the hot metal coil and prevents the intense heat from damaging the glass. This is a must if you have stovetop glassware and an electric range. With this, I can now boil water in my glass teakettle in my stove. It's very nice.

Keep your coffee warm
Very glad we got this wire grid. I started using it right away. My Chemex is quite old, had switched to the automatic coffee makers with plastic. Now switching back! Am now trying to get away from plastic totally. It's not that easy. Remember when "they" had put melamine in cat food to raise the protein level? So many cats died. Mine was pretty sick, stayed sick, don't know if it was from the melamine but either way, other pets were actually dying. It was not listed, was a contaminant. So, it's a journey, to try using mostly glass and stainless steel. This wire grid, I put on burner that is very low, and it's great to keep the coffee warm, esp for 2nd cup! Definitely recommended.

VERY satistifed with the product
I was convinced by the "Just buy it" review to get this one instead of other choices. I'm very glad I did! I did need to adjust the loops a bit to get my glass kettle to lie flat on it, but my really-old electric range coils are wonky, too. It heats up fast, hangs on the utensil rack right next to the stove, and works beautifully. I'm very satisfied--both with the product and the seller.

Does the job, but a little wonky
I wish it laid flat!

Covers the whole burner like it shows in the picture
This works very well. Covers the whole burner like it shows in the picture. It's large and way better than the wee flimsy thing i got w/the glass kettle. Once heated and thrown, it's also a potent deterrent against home invaders. Just be sure to keep your stove on day and night and sleep with oven mitts on, so you're ready in case someone breaks in. Or just get a dog.

great for glass top range
I had been using a clover heat diffuser that came with my glass kettle on a glass top magnetic inudctance heating top. The clover didnt reach the edges of the circle heating element so it would constantly turn on and off. This thing just barely covers to the edges of my heating element in 4 spots and the stove has a much more consistent heating mode of action now. It is also perfectly flat and very sturdy. Its probably 4-5 times thicker than your average clover heat diffuser. Although whatever is coating this diffuser has turned from a pale gray to a somewhat shiney brass color after using it daily for a month. It doesnt affect my heating, but its just something to note.

Works great with my Chemex Kettle
Called Chemex before buying this and they say high heat on electric coil stove was fine and that it would not damage my just purchased, and not cheap Chemex kettle.Initially set it to boil a full 64 ounces at 9/10 and worked great so I'm going to 10 next time as it takes a full 15 minutes to boil the contents on 9!You can of course use these to keep your Chemex coffee pots warm too but I haven't tried that.

Chemex Stainless Steel Grid
I use this Stainless Steel Grid for a Medelco glass kettle, not a Chemex, but the idea is the same. Compared to the little cloverleaf type of heat spreader, it's a lot more stable -- my kettle doesn't slip to the side if I don't place it square in the middle the way it did with the cloverleaf. Compared to the cloverleaf, it's a little thicker, so you may need to use slightly higher heat than with a cloverleaf. It has not turned dark the way my cloverleaf heat spreader did, and is still shiny silver colored after a month of use.

Working as unintended.
Chemex? I bought this as an electric stove diffuser for my carbon steel pan, because turns out the ~7" coil being in direct contact with a ~9" bottom delivers really uneven heat and wrecks the seasoning, and this was the only option I could find on Amazon. Can confirm you can use this with the stove running at max heat, and still get the pan hot enough to sear.

Perfect for Gas Stove
Searched for hours to find a marine gas stove trivet to keep my moka espresso pot stable. This was the one size fits all stoves solution. Thank you for a sturdy, flame proof product.
