Reliable boots and good price
Despite returning these boots due to a discount on the official Columbia website, they are of good quality. I used these for a hiking trip on a glacier in Iceland windy/snowy conditions (they fit crampons quite well too). They held out well and were warm and waterproof as I hiked through mountains and creeks. They are quite light and I think the value for money is pretty good too for these boots. I am size 43 and ordered 43.5. It is important to remember that when ordering hiking boots, you should always buy half a size or a size larger as your toes need to be able to move.

Great in the snow/ice less so in mud
I'm usually a size UK 10 and I've found the 10.5 the best fit for me in these boots.I was looking for some winter boots to replace an older pair of boots which lasted some years but were discontinued and I've struggled to find a light weight, high level waterproof boot. What I like with these is after a couple of months of wear they are fully waterproof and the waterproofing seam goes right to the top of where they lace. I've stood in streams up to the top of them and they've been great. Also on icy pavements these boots have particularly great grip.If there is one place they are let down it is in the mud or in muddy woods. The grips on the soles are not that deep and all quite close together so do not dig in well and can be quite slippy in muddy conditions.I didn't buy these as snow boots as such, we don't get a lot of snow, but it seems it is mainly snow boots which have a high height of waterproofing. In winter here in the UK these are warm but I don't find them too warm and my feet don't sweat in them. After a couple of months wear they look pretty much as new so I'm pleased with how these are holding up. They are nice and light to wear and east to get on, though I would probably prefer if the speed-hooks were on the two top rows instead of just the top.If they were better in the mud then I would have found my new replacement boots but as it is I will wear these in the ice and snow but I'm still looking for a good all round winter boot to replace my old ones.

Quality materials, water proof
Excellent quality. I bought these as their hiking boots where great, the soles did not erode after 3 months and they were genuienly water-proof. These boots are of the same build quality.

Ideal size for my big feet!
I always struggle to find shoes in my very large size (size 14 uk!). Coloumbia are my go to manufacturer, as the shoes etc are always true to size. Got these for a trip to Norway so hoping they live upto expectations.

Uncomfortable
I really wanted to like these and got them for a great price on Amazon. They look well made, I am sure they'll be warm, hopefully waterproof and they look good too. Fit was spot on, although I ordered half a size up to allow for thick socks and toe wiggle room - which these boots delivered on. It is really important not to have too snug a fit with insulated boots, else you'll get cold toes. But having said all those nice things, they are very stiff boots and clamp onto the shins way too tightly. I couldn't walk in them, way too uncomfortable. I don't get reviews singing their praises when these are so uncomfortable to wear. May be they loosen up with time? I wasn't going to wait to find out, so returned them, such a shame.
