Silicone Toe Cap protector and finger sleeves - 6 Pieces Pink with Bonus Travel Case

I began long-distance running (1/2 and full marathons) about 12 months ago. The big toe and 2nd toe on each foot was rubbing against the top of my running shoes. This did not become evident to me until I started running 14+ miles during my training runs. By the time I noticed the issue during a long run, it was too late. The toe nail on the 2nd toe on each foot turned black, and were destined to fall off. Fortunately, the toe nails on my big toes were only slightly affected, and could possibly be saved. I also learned that if I fail to protect the toenails I have already damaged, I could permanently damage the nail bed. Prior to using these toe caps, I was using moleskin bandages and bandaids...but they are a hassle to get on properly, they fall off during a run, and provide little protection. These toe cap protectors where recommended by a friend. They work great! I slip them on each big toe and 2nd toe prior to the run, and they stay on securely during the entire run. I have been using them for 2 months, and I am very pleased. I've run 300+ miles using these toe caps (including a 1/2 marathon and a full marathon), and I have had no further issues. They take some getting used to, but I forget I am using them after the first 1/4 mile. When run is complete, I rinse the toe caps with soapy water and store in a porous cloth bag. Do yourself a favor and save your toenails using these toe caps.

I tried this and found it puts too much pressure on my toe if worn for several hours. Since it bothers the top of my toe, I cut the top off and just use a band around the toe.

Works as described

Unfortunately, the big toe piece stretched and wore a hole after a single use! This despite making sure it was snugly pulled up on my big toe.I have flat feet and overpronate which may have put unusual pressure on the big toe piece, but then again that's the point of these things in the first place!2 stars because the rest stayed intact, and the general concept of these toe protectors is cool. Just maybe try a different brand/material?

Works well on any distance runs. My second toe is longer than my first, which leads to rubbing, bruising, and pain on longer runs. For some reason, only the second toe on my left foot gets this bruising. So I bought one set, which included one large toe protector and four of the same size smaller toe protectors. The smaller ones fit my second toe perfectly. The silicone is very soft, easy to get on and off, and it's easy to clean. Prevents the rubbing and bruising problems completely. I highly recommend these.

Update: after ordering a second time the new order is nothing like my original purchase, picture shows “bonus travel case” which is just plastic bags now and the toe caps are much cheaper and thinner than previous version. Disappointed with the second order of this product and how drastically different it isHave worn one for 2 spartan supers, a trip to nyc and several hikes and after 40+ miles still working great, will order again if these ever break down

I hike 200-300 miles every summer and wait the following 4 months for bruised toe nails to grow back .I wish I had used these all those past years. The caps are highly effective protecting your toes, extremely durable andI can't feel wearing them. I just got back from another tough 3 day hike and my toes are in great shape - no pain no damage.
