THE SHORE ROAD MYSTERY
Its a great book and this is the sixth book Franklin W. Dixon made. At the beginning of the book the Hardy boys chase the grand thief auto that stole Jerry,s new car, an expensive model. But Hardy lost them when the tractor shove up and the Hardy almost crashed into it. Then one night the grand thief auto parked at Mr.Dodd,s yard and took Mr.Dodd,s fishing rode and put in the trunk of the stolen car to make the cops think Mr.Dodd stole the car. Soon Mr.Dodd and Jack asked the hardy boys if they agree to solve the family treasure mystery. jack Dodd is Frank,s and Joe,s friend. Frank and Joe eagerly agree. then soon Mr.Dodd and Jack mysteriously disappeared. Then Hardy boys started to search for them and soon they discovered that Mr.Dodd and Jack had been kidnapped. Soon the Hardy boys search on the shore road and then they started search in the woods. Then they met Scratch. he is another Frank and Joe friend. Scratch said he saw a man half spider in a large web. Soon they discovered the man half spider is a skin diver and the large web is the large net. Shore Road Mediocrity
Not as good as the previous "Hardy Boys" book I'd read (... "Screeching Owl"); I more or less lost interest in the mystery about half way through. I did like the subplot with Chet and the diet, even if it was supposed to make him look like a buffoon.P.S. I want to read a story from Chief Collig's point of view. He must get ticked off having to deal with the Hardy Boys and their calls and "can you check this out for us!"

Rediscovering an old favorite
An old classic for my 7 year old grandson. He loves them. Just bought him the second set 6-10 (I think). He raced thru the earlier set that ended with #5. I bought *6 separately because I didn’t think he could wait for the full set to arrive. He’s a great reader and this collection has him hooked. At first I thought these would be old and dated. But the publishers update the volumes to be more compatible for children today. Nothing pleases me more than seeing a child captivated by books! Hardy Boys is certainly doing that! Buy one volume and see what you think. I bet you’ll be pleased!

A Top Hardy Boys Volume
First, my standard HB preamble:There are two major mistakes that readers of the Hardy Boys series routinely make: 1) Not reading (& many times not even knowing about) the ORIGINAL, unrevised versions of the text. In almost every case, the original editions were much superior, and 2) Not researching the books, and assuming that all the HB volumes are basically of equal quality. This is very untrue, and the thing to do is to be selective. These two pitfalls must be avoided if one really wants to enjoy the classic Hardy Boys at their best.I have researched and then read several installments in the venerable series which enjoy the highest reputations among true and informed HB aficionados. Next I applied my own personal evaluation to each book.O.K. then, and what of this installment -- The Shore Road Mystery? Suffice it to say that if one had a skinny bookcase, w/shelves only wide enough to fit several volumes across, and if one wanted to reserve the top shelf in that case for only the best of Hardy Boys adventures -- The Shore Road Mystery belongs there.
