This is a wonderful guide to have for those interested in mask making. The book itself is very easy to navigate and has step by step directions on the entire process of sculpting, molding and casting your very own mask. There is great insight on what materials to use and how to safely use them. The author even shows you how to make your own armature and tools to stay within a budget. I would definitely buy this book again as it is a great reference to have on hand.

Ive been doing a lot of research on a good book/tutorial to get my hands on latex mask making. This book has been so incredibly helpful and informative in every step including making the actual plaster mold. That was something I had a hard time with figuring out and Russ Adams book was the perfect fit for figuring this stuff out. It goes through each step and a bit of the history behind latex masks and how they do it in Hollywood. He also shows how to make your own tools and save a lot of money from buying one already made. I know im going to keep this book around for as long as im making monsters and masks.

I was disappointed with the overall quality of this book, notably the horrible black and white pictures that look like photocopies of photocopies, not something that should have made it to print.
