My younger dog took to it after only 2 attempts, by learning to sit and "shake hands" with the bell. Within a week I'd reinforced that he should ring the bell only for potty, not when he wants to just play or go outside to screw around. My older dog never bothered learning to ring the bell herself, but she goes to the door when the younger dog rings it, works for me! Tip: The bell is top-heavy and is prone to flipping over, so tape the bottom edge to the floor with a square of rug tape and it won't go anywhere.

I like the images on the bells. It’s fairly easy for my puppy to ring. We’ve had the bells 2 days and while he doesn’t know how to technically use them, he can make it ring. It does not, however, have a nonskid. It is plastic on the bottom and moves around. Doesn’t bother me as we put one in the corner by the back door and the other against the wall by the front. We will see if our little guy actually learns to use them but for the price and a two pack, better than the door hanging bells
