The DL40 is a beast of a torch!
It’s a bit bigger than I first imagined (20cm long, 6cm diameter at the head and 3.5cm body diameter) and has a bit of weight to it. It’s definitely solidly built and feels like a proper tool that will last, unlike some other torches I own that zoom in and out or are plastic. It’s sold as a diving light but as others have said, it can be used on land or sea (or I guess air?). I can tell it’s waterproof as there’s 2 o-rings on the threads and the threads themselves are anodised and very well cut. I have a smaller light from Sofirn with a similar design, which I’ve taken swimming a few times without issue. The LEDs are neutral white LH351D. From the look and output I’m confident that these are genuine Samsung emitters. These LEDs are high CRI, so more similar to sunlight than you get with cheaper lights. The quad reflector reminds me of the BLF Q8, which is a flashlight enthusiast favourite. The Wurkkos torch is a good mix of throw and flood, reaching a fair distance but also not too focused. The side switch has a nice feel to it. From what I can tell it’s fully isolated from the internals and works by moving a magnet, meaning the light is fully waterproof. The light has 4 modes, which are well spaced: 300lm, 820lm, 2000lm, 5000lm. As with all high power lights, the highest mode will step down a bit after the light gets warm. The 300 lm lowest mode is still quite bright, so this light isn’t so useful for small tasks around the house. The torch comes with 2 batteries. These are standard 26650 size and rated at 5000mAh each, for a total of 10,000mAh (the same as a large power bank). My charger showed around 5000mAh going into them when charging them fully, so they appear to be brand new and not refurbished. I haven’t used the provided charger yet but it looks fine.As well as the charger, the box also includes 2 plastic tubes. These are battery adapters, so you can use 18650 size cells as well as 26650 ones. If you use your own ones (eg from a vaping shop) then make sure to get a pair of identical ones that are the same voltage and capacity, as the high current from 2 in series can mean that mismatched cells would try to charge each other, which would be dangerous.Make sure to unscrew the tail cap and take out the cardboard insulator that stops the light turning on in the box!

Simple and powerful!
Kit comes with everything you need and is amazing value for money. With the flashlight you also get two 26650 Li-ion 5000mAh batteries, two 18650 adapters, two spare o-rings, lanyard, USB charger and a micro USB charging cable. The flashlight itself is well built and has some good heft to it. LEDs are the brilliant Samsung LH351D in 5000K that has very high output and great colour reproduction with 90 CRI. Threads are beefy, square cut and well lubricated out the box. The battery tube has double o-rings on both ends to keep water out. I haven't been diving with this yet but have taken it swimming in the sea. The switch is very easy to find and use and the lanyard works well. After 30 minutes the light still worked flawlessly and showed no signs of water ingress. The UI is super simple - click for ON, further clicks to progress between Low, Medium, High and Turbo, hold for OFF. There is mode memory, no blinky or strobe modes. UI's are becoming ever more sophisticated so it's refreshing to see such a powerful flashlight keep things simple. This makes using the flashlight in (and out of the) water simple and reliable.Rated runtimes seem pretty accurate based on my testing and, although I have no way of verifying the actual lumens, it is plenty bright enough with good mode spacing. The supplied battery charger is also nice and simple. It's a 2A micro USB two-slot charger (1A each channel). Indicator LED will be red while charging and green when done.Overall this is a great, simple, well-built flashlight and amazing value for money. Due to the great choice of LEDs, powerful output, simple UI and real waterproofness this has become my go-to flashlight for outdoor use.

Excellent
Just back from the Res Sea where I did a series of night dives and two interior dives on the Thistlegorm with this torch and it was excellent. Far beyond my expectations for the £60 I paid for it, and it definitely outperformed the Mares EOS torch that my buddy rented. Setting 1 is quite gentle and muted, 2 - 3 are more than enough for any reef dive. Setting 4 was perfect for the darker wreck penetrations. Setting 5… well, let’s just say it’s bright enough to summon Batman and cause any aggressive Lionfish to flee in fear for their spiny fishy lives - albeit that you do get an very increased amount of backscatter. Battery life was excellent and with everything you need included in the box it really is a cracking deal. No issues whatsoever. No leaks, no switch issues, and light dispersal is both wide and focussed. Coming in at just over 1kg it feels solid in the hand and allowed me to drop that Kg from my integrated trim pocket and put that weight further forward which helped aid my balance in tight areas. I almost paid £00’s for a branded torch but took a gamble on this, and in my mind it has totally paid off.

For the price, you get an impressive package with great output, and only a minor design niggle
Note: this is a short review – I may upload a longer one in due course. This torch comes with a nice spread of accessories. I especially appreciated it coming with batteries and a (simple, micro-USB powered) charger. The charger can charge a variety of battery sizes, not just the 26650 cells the torch comes with. This torch is very powerful, even on low. The beam colour with the L351D emitters is nice, with limited glare reflecting back even on Turbo. You can clearly see it has 4 emitters – up close the hotspot has a ‘plus’ shape, while even further away the spill has a clover-leaf shape. I found that not a problem, and I like that the torch has a good balance between throw and flood.Physically, the torch is generally well-designed. With batteries in, it is evenly-weighted, and it feels and looks solid. Two particularly nice touches are that the head of the torch is shaped so the torch won’t roll very far (and fall off a table), and a groove near the switch that guides your finger to it. Note that if you use the (thick and strong) lanyard that is provided you can’t safely tail stand the torch, as the lanyard hole is too close to the base of the light. Changing this, or the lanyard, is the only ‘design’ tweak I would suggest.Other than some slightly rough edges on the reflector, and a small dent on one edge, overall quality control is good. (I didn’t notice any impact on the beam from these.)I’m enjoying using it and would happily recommend it.

Crazy powerful!
This torch is insane! It is super bright and is built like a tank. It uses two 26650 batteries with a combined capacity of 10000mah giving it a really long battery life. The only issue I had, was the batteries rattle inside the torch, I solved that easily by placing a small piece of paper inside the battery tube. What I like about this torch:- Amazingly powerful- Build quality- Waterproof- High CRI- Colour temperature of the LEDs- It can run on high for a long time before stepping down- Many accessories includedWhat I don't like about this torch:- The batteries rattle slightly in the torch (easily solved by placing a piece of paper inside the battery tube)
