Guitar Pro 6 Deluxe SoundBank Edition [Old Version]

I really enjoy all the capabilities of Guitar Pro 6 especially with the expanded soundbank option. There is a TON of instruments and sounds to choose from and I find it to be a very useful learning tool. Instead of having to read music or tablature and try to formulate the piece in my head as I go, Guitar Pro plays it as I read it, slow if I want, faster as I progress. There are millions of tablature pieces out there on the internet you can get for free and run through GP 6, too. So if you are looking to learn a particular song, it is really easy to find the TAB, run it through GP 6, and start learning.The downside, though, is the learning curve. Guitar Pro software is complicated (to me) because it is full of so many options and adjustments and sound selections. Writing TAB is something I have not yet ventured, but I understand it is not difficult.Overall, I give Guitar Pro a 10 out-of 10.

what can i say this product is great for any musician who wants to right music i do like this new versionI truly recommend this software. I've been using guitar pro for almost 12 years it allows me to write my ideas than use othersounds to expend the compositions . you can not ask more . also i would like to suggest the software Komplete 9 ultimateand its done you will have everything the soundbank in guitar pro is decent i like the sound of classical guitar other that its ok at least it gives you an idea. the price is totally cheap according to have all these abilities to write musicthis software is a golden gift .

1/1/2015 (12 hours later) Update: BE AWARE: after the THIRD update, my "Guitar Pro 6\Data\Soundbanks" folder decreased in size by about 500 MB's, down to 1.2 GB's, and I now notice an audible "click" when I start playing my score. This "click" only occurs on the start. I am docking 1 star for this. I may reinstall without the THIRD update.***************************************I just installed Guitar Pro 6 with the 1.7 GB soundbanks. I am restarting my guitar playing and I hope to use GP6 to practice. Amazon, after Cyber Monday, gave me an excellent deal and I thank them for it.GP6 installed with no problems. I have a Windows 7-64 system, Intel i7, SanDisk SSD, 16 GB RAM, and multi-monitors. For a pic of my system, see the comments section of this review. Before I installed, I ran Windows Update and I also updated several other programs such as Flash and ShockWave.I just started using the program so I cannot tell you about all it's features. However, I did create a mysongbook account. I bought the Hotel California Full Score for a dollar. My hope is to someday be able to play it, although it will take lots of practice. You must first create a mysongbook account, confirm it through your email, buy the score, start GP6, log on to your mysongbook account inside GP6, then you can open the score inside GP6. There are a number of steps, but it does work.One thing I don't like about the mysongbook account is that you cannot actually save the purchased score on your local computer drive. You can only "view, play, and print the tabs." This means you must have an active internet connection to be able to load the score into GP6.However, GP6 does work and has, so far, not crashed on me. Be aware, after installation, you must run your Help > Launch Updater at least TWICE, NOT once. The first time will update your Updater. The second time the updated Updater will update GP6 to the latest version. I just bought the retail disk version from Amazon. It had v6.0.5 on it. The Updater updated GP6 to v6.1.6 r11621 (Feb/12/2014). From v6.0.5 to v6.1.6, the change log shows at least 100 bug fixes and another 100 improvements. Be sure to run the Updater at least TWICE. During the second update, the Updater updates mostly the program which is relatively small at 25 MB. I am currently running a THIRD update which involves improved Soundbanks, about 1 GB in downloads.Regarding using GP6 as a tool to learn how to play Hotel California, I will probably have to buy additional printed material. For example, the printed material states a capo must be used and I don't think GP6 will mention that. All of these guitar books contain the score for Hotel California. However, GP6 shows there are about 6 guitar, plus 1 bass guitar, scores for Hotel California:1. 44 Eclectic Hits For Classic Rock Guitar (The Eclectic Hits Series)2. The Absolute Best Guitar Songbook Guitar Tab Edition3. The Greatest Classic Rock Guitar Authentic Guitar Tab Edition4. Classic Rock: 50 Favorites For Easy Guitar Guitar Tab EditionIn order to make GP6 sound better, you may want to install a dedicated sound card, such as the Sound Blaster Z PCIe Gaming Sound Card. GP6 appears to use MIDI and a dedicated sound card will sound better than the built in CODEC audio on your motherboard. I do not have a dedicated sound card installed yet.

At first glance, GP6 gives the impression of being a great program for guitar players who desire to switch to the digital realm rather than use printed scores. And the included examples tend to reinforce that idea, but they are misleading. GP6 does not seem to be able to correctly import MusicXML files as advertised. When importing a score containing, for example 3 pages, it imports only one of 3 and strips the guitar tabs from the import. Furthermore, whereas the program allows one to add tabs to the included examples, that feature is greyed out when using imported files that actually contained tabs in their original form. The inability to correctly— or even close to correctly—import scanned music or commercially available pdf files, where pdf files have been converted to MusicXML files via PhotoScore 8 Ultimate, IMO, renders this software useless for purpose stated above. Various users might find value in its other functions. I might add, that an email sent to the developer regarding the above has gone unanswered.

Awesome program! Love how versatile it is and that I can download endless amounts of tab for free. I highly recommend this software to anyone wanting to have a little more control and fun while playing.

It took a little bit of time to learn the ins and outs of the program but its exactly what I was looking for. This product was well conceived and trustworthy.

I Hope so, it is a Christmas gift.

Guitar sound are not near as good as I expected.I can get the same sound on a free program.I think I might have wasted my money.Sorry, but I just couldn't justify a positive review here.Thank You
