Great condensing heat-pump dryer
We have only had this a few days, and have been extremely impressed with it so far. Compared to our very old standard condensing dryer, this Indesit is quieter, faster, uses less electricity, traps more humidity, is kinder on the clothes, and has a much better sensor in to detect when clothes are dry.We have so far dried normal clothes, bedding, towels, and a blanket in it. All dried evenly and less harshly than before. The Push & Go button (needs holding in for 5 seconds to start it) automatically works out how long the clothes need to dry, so I don't need to set a drying time myself. There's a pause and play button you can use to stop the dryer, check the clothes, then restart the dryer, all without affecting the calculated drying time.Ease of use:There are two lint filters. The first one is just inside the drum with the clothes, and needs de-fluffing after every round of clothes. There is another lint filter behind the panel on the lower-left of the front of the machine. Because it's just above floor level, it's not as easy to get to, but it's not hard to remove it for de-fluffing, which needs doing approx every four rounds of drying - there will be an alert on the screen to tell you to do it. The condenser unit is located just behind this second lint filter, and that will need cleaning about once a month. There will also be an alert on the screen to clean the condenser when this is necessary. I almost forgot; the condensed water ends up in a container in the top-left of the dryer. We empty out the water after every drying cycle, however I estimate you could do four or five drying cycles before the container is full. Alternatively, there is an option to not use the container and use the supplied tube to drain the water down a nearby outflow instead. However, the tube is so short, I don't think this is practical in most kitchens or utility rooms unless you're a plumber! In conclusion, I would score this dryer 9.5/10. I think the second filter and condensing unit being at floor level is a negative for anyone who struggles with mobility. Sadly, this layout is currently standard on dryers. I wish someone would design these parts to be located in a more accessible place, although it's hard to imagine where.Update Mar 2023We've had this dryer a couple of months. The only issue I've had with it was when I was drying a duck feather and down jacket. The sensor kept turning the dryer off because it thought the jacket was dry, however the feathers inside the jacket were still too damp, causing them to clump together horribly. I had to resort to using the manual timer setting (third button from left on the control panel - has a picture of a timer with a sun behind) to force an extra hour or so of drying time, and this was enough to completely dry the feathers inside the jacket, and fluff them up nicely.

Easy to use
New to tumble dryers so needed good instructions.those supplied not bad but could be better. Easy to empty water container and clean filters. So far pretty good

Does not dry
Which recommended, they said takes a long time to dry - 4hrs 40mins for 8kg load. However after 6 hrs and less than 8kg load, still damp. Indesit said that was to be expected. If you want an engineer to check it out you have to pay and they will just tell you to move it to another room (away from the laundry with a window). Now stuck with a tumble dryer that doesn't work.

I was very happy with my new dryer but it has gone wrong in less than 9 months and basically needs a rebuild for which I’m having to wait for ages to do! For this amount of repair it should have been replaced 😢😢
