Eddie BauerMen's MicroTherm 2.0 Down Hooded Jacket

Beautiful design but not warm enough for my needs. I have 650 fill power jackets warmer than this one for a fraction of the cost. So after some research I learned that Fill Power designates the quality of the down not the warmth of the jacket. Fill weight meaning the amount of down in the jacket (generally measured in grams/weight), is required to tell the whole story. For example: 7 oz or 200g 600 fill power will be much warmer than 3.5 oz or 100g 800 fill power jacket. I think Amazon should make it a requirement to show both: Fill Power and Fill Weight on all their down jackets. Long story short, I had to return the jacket.

Got a size M, my normal size, but it was to tight in the chest, around the arm pit area. Definitely no space for layering up.Wore it around the house for 5 mins, didn't feel warm, although I started gradually feeling the warmth in my back. I am afraid I will not be able to comment soon on my experience on temperatures around °C or minus since I am passing this to my father who is a bit shorter and thinner than me, it fitted him perfectly.Should I have sized up to "M Tall" perhaps? I am afraid size large might be to large for me, I am 1.75m tall and weight around 80 Kgs (I am not thin, but would say a light build).

A very good looking jacket but not very warm for January-February winters in Michigan.This jacket claims 800 fill if I'm not mistaken which I respectfully doubt. The main zipper appears small and quite weak, but we shall see how durable it is.This is a $130 light winter jacket that you will pay an extra $55 for the Eddie Bauer name. Caveat emptor.

As a smaller dude. 5 ft 5. I have a hard time finding gear that fits in a slimmer style without being of, well, junior or child style. This jacket is my favorite, and I am picky. Fit is amazing, construction is expected with a solid Eddie Bauer brand. It is warm, both in light winter conditions and moderate, including that crisp breeze. I've used this jacke in 50 degree and 4 degree temps. For those out there looking for a good fit that is flexible, sturdy, temperature right and has a good look to it. This is a great buy.

Good insulated jacket for being active in cold weather. A major problem is the amount of feathers coming out every time I wear it. It's like I've been wrestling with a goose. Im pretty sure eventually all the feathers will be gone. I've even put the jacket in dryer to refluff the insulation but feathers still come out. Looks like other reviewers have had the same issue. Because of this I dont recommend this jacket.
