Meh - okay but NOT WATERPROOF - damp feet
Decently comfortable (but I have since found that I much prefer Keen fit), kind of clunky feeling though. Overall warm when they are dry, but my feet get damp when I wear them, as I am in and out all day during Michigan winters (and this snow melts when I’m inside - not damp from sweat). Would not recommend. Do seem to hold up well in terms of external materials.

Perfect Winter Boot
I love the Merrell line and was looking specifically for one of their winter boots. When I came across this particular boot, I didn't hesitate. We are having particulary harsh winters and lots of snow this year in the North East and these boots are comfortable without being heavy. They have already paid for themselves with the amount of times I have had to wear them. They are completely waterproof and have kept my feet very dry and warm as well. They don't look like Herman Munster shoes but rather a nice pair of hiking boots, just waterproof. Also, even when they get a bit dirty, just take a magic eraser sponge and dirt comes right off and they look brand new.I have had these boots for several weeks in some rather harsh conditions and they still look brand new. They don't mark up easily.

Best Winter Boots!
After much research, I decided to go with these Merrell Whiteout 8 boots. I've worn them several times already, and they are great. The main purpose of these shoes are to walk my dog every night, in the snowy/icy Midwest weather. These are lightweight and very warm. They are also easy to get on/off, and easy to lace up. MANY reviews said to order up in size, as they run small and this is very true. I am always an 8.5. I ordered these in a 9. They are snug, but fit good. I may have even been ok with a 9.5. So, be sure to order up in size. I would buy these again and again.

Super light weight!
These guys are the bomb! They look so heavy, but are very light. I ordered these for those really COLD & SNOWY days like Michigan and 1/3 of the USA went through. Let me tell you, at -14°F with windchills at -35°F, these kept my feet warm and dry.A ton of the reviews said to get 1/2 size larger to accomodate thicker socks, so I ordered an 8.5M. They are a bit large for me, but I just double up on the socks and that does it. No real break-in period.....just wore out and about right away. You won't be disapointed!

Buy these!
I wore these all winter. I wish they would make a summer shoe. These are beyond warm and really, really comfortable. It took a day to break them in. Technically, I shouldn't even count that as a breaking in. I stupidly wore short tennis socks and wondered why the boots rubbed a but on my ankle when I walked. Taller socks and all is well. I will be ordering another pair of these. I get terrible pains in my feet when I walk all day, but not when I wear these.

Great boot - ORDER 1 SIZE LARGER!
I purchased these boots to walk the dog on snow/ice covered streets and I'm really happy with their traction and stability. They have great support and were comfortable right out of the box. The shaft of the boot doesn't allow for a lot of movement in the ankle, so it takes some getting used to (like a ski boot, but not as extreme). I normally wear a 7 or 7.5, but my big toe was touching the end of the 7.5 just standing still. I ordered an 8.5 (8 wasn't available) and they fit great. If a snow boot can be stylish, this boot fits the bill! The "aluminum" color is a grayish/taupe combo and the chocolate brown accents really add the cute factor.

Bought these for my wife
Like most boots you should always expect them to be slightly bigger than their shoe counterparts, usually by a 1/2 size. That's because they usually size them assuming the use of thicker winter/wool socks. Knowing that I ordered her a pair in size 8 and they fit exactly as expected. She thought that they were warm, comfortably and easy to slip on and off.

Fits like a glove
I ordered the size I usually wear in spite of the few reviews that suggest you get a size larger - and mine fit great! I haven't worn thick socks but even if I did I'm sure the boots will still fit just fine. My feet are toasty warm and dry and I love how lightweight these boots are. They've got deep treads on the sole and the laces don't slip and untie themselves after a few hours of wear. I love Merrell shoes!!
