It’s not a Lufkin, but they stopped making precision scales 50 years ago. It it definitely the finest in the market place.

I lost one of these sometime back somewhere in a black hole in my shop and I've been looking for another every since. The old one was General Tool I think when they were made in the US. This US made Starrett is a nice little size for small precision measurements. Zero so to speak is the end of the rule so you can butt the rule up and take true measurements from the very end. For many metal rules, the zero point is some short distance from the end. This one is divided into 1/50 and 1/100 on one side and 1/32 and 1/64 on the other. I like the decimal measurements. I may order another on with metric divisions as well. I'm lazy and with metric it's easier to halve lengths and the like.

Lost my last one, and now have a better, easier to read, new one. Arrived early, very satisfied with service!

After 42 years in the machinist trade I decided to finish my career with a genuine Starrett scale. Yes a bit on the expensive side but still well worth it.

If you know Starrett, you know quality! This product is very pliable which helps with getting into tight areas.

Price is right. About 3 bucks per inch from the catalog at work. But now I don't gotta deal with a tool account through the tool crib.

I normally like Starrett products so was disappointed in this one. Really no different from the 2 for $5 product I got here on Amazon:SE 9266SRP 6” Double-Sided Ruler in Both SAE/Metric, 2-PackIn fact, those also have a hole for hanging.Back to the Starrett. It's not bad, it's just not great and for the cost I'd have expected much more precise tooling, finer and sharper indicator lines and so on. Anyway, I was not overly impressed.
