This mic is amazing, it gives clear and crisp sound. I love that it comes with a mic you can attach to your chest as well.

The media could not be loaded. I was uncertain how this microphone would sound for the price, and I can honestly say I'm pleasantly surprised how almost on par it is to a more expensive one I used to own. I knew before purchasing it that it was not stereo unless you used the lav microphone, and this mic does not disappoint. I can't really give a technical critique of the sound, I just know it does what I need it to do. It's lightweight, small, and comes with a DeadCat - you have to purchase separate with other brands. I highly recommend purchasing this microphone if you are in the market for one, don't let the price throw you off, you are getting a quality product. I plan on purchasing another one to record stereo.

This is a back-up for me. I’ve used to it in an emergency and it was adequate for my needs on a day where absolutely professional sound quality was not a requirement.If you have a podcast or YouTube channel this is beyond adequate and only audiophiles and sound snobs would have criticisms.Don’t get me wrong, in the scheme of things it’s a pretty low quality bit of gear but the sound quality is superior to any in-camera sound options.

Small rig doesn't disappoint, very impressed with this little mic, very hot output with no battery, I like the option to add a second mic and split the channels. Good sound quality, low noise, works great on my Sony a6500. Only minor complaint is the deadcat can't go on all the way to cover the actual mic element because of where the mount goes but I moved the mount to the back of the mic to slip the deadcat on further

Internals of microphone were broken and rattling after first use ! Did not drop nor mishandle it was defective from the jump!

This, like other Smallrig products, is of exceptional quality. I tried it out with two different cameras (a Zcam cinema camera and a GoPro Hero 9) and the S20 performed admirably on both. The audio quality is excellent, and the volume level is more than acceptable. I compared it to a Rode VideoMicro, and the Smallrig easily outperforms it. If you want a high-quality mic that won't break the bank, this is the one to choose. Highly recommended! A+++

I put this up against a Rode VideoMicro. Tested on the same camera (Canon R5) with the same settings, compared in my audio software to listen for noise and compare frequency etc. This was on par with the Rode which is twice the price. Nice warmth to it, very low noise. Though the lav mic it comes with is junk. It is good that you can add a second mic and record in stereo (Smallrig on the right, external mic on the left). Personally, I would split these in to 2 mono tracks and eq/comp/level separately to get the best out of that setup.

It is working well. I have used it with Fuji XT2 in windy conditions. I have no complaints at all, the sound is clear.
