I had originally ordered a different set of shovels that went right back, because the plastic was not strong and the handles were short.With a recommendation from a friend I purchased these and I have been very happy with them. They are used at the beach and in the sandbox, the length is just right for kids, but I am happy with it as an adult when I am kneeling. We do store them in a deck box, I think the wood and plastic would be damaged if they were left out for days/weeks at a time.Would purchase again.

These shovels are heavy duty for kids who loves digging holes in the sand! I was very pleased with how sturdy they were for an adult to use too, plus the handle is long enough for a grown up to comfortably use (I’m 5’7” for reference!).

These are good for kids to dig in the sand. They are not that durable, one of our three had a broken handle on day two of our beach vacation. I wouldn't recommend them for adults or older kids or digging really deep not sturdy enough for that. They are safe for smaller kids bc of the plastic aspect which is good for us (our girls are 2 and 4).

They’ve held up

I bought these in Jan. of 2020, and just realized I never reviewed them! I use these shovels for cleaning out my chicken coop. They've held up beautifully over the past 18 months, and they are left to sit out in the elements all the time- sun, snow, rain, etc... I do think the handle might snap soon on the blue one, which is the one I've used the most. It's starting to have that weakened plastic feel to it, but hey, chicken sh!t is heavy! If these do every break, I'll definitely buy these again. Highly recommend.

My boys love to dig for hours at the beach. I'm always on the lookout for sturdy, longer handled shovels for them as they are notorious for breaking them. I ordered these not knowing what to expect, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised! We brought these to the beach with us a couple of weeks ago and they provided endless entertainment for some very rough boys. Absolute great length and durability. I definitely recommend these!

They are somewhat sturdy shovels and work well for dry sand. The plastic portion flexes a bit and will break if used too enthusiastically with wet sand or if used to dig out larger rocks encountered. And, strangely, the handles became moldy after a week of daily use at an ocean beach. We left them outside on the porch each night but were very surprised by the mold.

I don’t have toddlers anymore and need toys to hold up to older kids constantly playing. These work well! This is the first season with them so only time will tell if they last years or not. Great addition to our sand toy bag.
