Bought as a gift for my father. It doesn’t come with the butane needed for the torch, but otherwise is a complete kit.We had trouble creating heavy smoke. What we learned is less is more, a tiny pinch of wood yields the best results.No significant difference in flavor or smell of each wood.

This is a cost effective way to see if you're into smoked cocktails and very nicely packaged. It would make an inexpensive but thoughtful gift. It does work, it's just a little involved and fussy to use. I find it difficult to get much smoke to flow out of the bottom into the drink without overheating "the bowl" and charring the wooden holder. The torch is also low quality and a bit bulky. Still, it does add an interesting flavor to whisk(e)y and makes a good party trick. I used mine regularly for a few weeks and then upgraded to a more expensive gun/chamber set up.
