USB SOUND
I think this is the third pair of these speakers I have owned. USB sound makes a makes a big difference in sound quality. Not having to connect a power source is also a plus. This is a very good price.

They should continue production of these speaker...
I've had these speakers for years. Initially I purchased them for travel to plug into my laptop because they required no separate power, nor a 3.5 mm jack. However, I since left them attached to my desktop for the same reason and the sound is as good as any speakers this size. I've since tried them with my cell phone (using a micro USB adapter), and they also work well in that configuration. Since nearly all electronic have USB ports, I don't understand why more speakers would simply exclude their 3.5 mm jack and go to a USB only connection.
