NASB Large Print Compact Bible, Red, Leathertex, 2020 text

Nice compact format
Let me start off by saying that I enjoy the Nasb 95' and I have been reading it for years. Aside from a few translations that I often read from, the Nasb 2020 isn't really bad at all. The negative criticisms are mostly due to updates on gender readings (brothers and sisters, and people) when pertaining to brothers and Man when speaking of both men and women in general. I myself have no problem with this and I see why the translators went this route to make the bible easier and more understandable to new readers and old alike. I don't see these changes as detracting from essential theological doctrinesOther areas of translation could have remained as they were in the 95' as they do read smoother than they do in the 2020. For instance, psalm 1 says blessed is the 'person' who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, whereas in the 95' it is rendered blessed is the 'man' who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked. They do take some getting used to when transitioning from a previous translation but that's just my subjective opinion. Others may have no problem with that. The nasb 2020 does show improvements in other areas that bring clarity to the reader where the 95' lacked. One example is proverbs 28:4. The 20' tells us that those who keep the law strive 'against them' (the wicked) while The 95' tells us that those who keep the law strive 'with them' (the wicked) . Do those who keep the law strive with the wicked, or do they strive against them? The nasb 2020 improves the reading hereThe Bible itself is well constructed. For a compact size, it's not bad at all. Some would consider it a personal size but I think it makes the cut for passing as a compact. The leathertex feels nice to the touch and it has a vinyl paste-down liner (thankfully not a paper paste down). It isn't edge lined but seems like it does have reinforcement to hold well. It is a black letter text in single column format, which I personally like over double column. Unfortunately, the paper isn't as opaque so there will be slight ghosting especially in the poetry section, but it does feel nice to the touch. You also get 2 ribbons to match the color scheme of the bible. Lays flat after breaking it in at around mid to late GenesisAll in all, you're getting a pretty good compact bible for the price. It's definitely not premium but I am pleased with it. One note to add is that lockman should move the serial numbers from the back of the bibles to the inside as it does get annoying to look at

My favorite Bible for everyday reading!
I discovered this Bible on a Bible Review by Tim Wildsmith. I was in the market for an NASB and he gave it a good review, so I thought I would give it a try.I was not disappointed. I have many premium Bibles, but this one quickly became my favorite for everyday reading and Bible study.I have had it for a little over a year, and still use it every day.Everything about it is perfect for me!!
