This sluice Fox is amazing. Its my first sluice but I did a lot of research on how to set and run a sluice box. one and a half hours of sluicing and came up with 60 to 70 tiny flakes of flour gold. this thing catches everything!! I tested all my tailings and didn't find one spec of gold. once you have it set right, all there is to do is feed it gold! super easy to do a clean out takes maybe 10 to 15 mins tops. and the fact that it catches the flour gold is perfect since that's about all we have in my state. Don't make the mistake in passing on this sluice. It also fits in my hiking backpack no problem. I read reviews saying you need to use 1/4 or smaller classifer, FALSE!!! I use 1/2 that came with my pan and this sluice has no problem running, just have to have it set right!! for this price what do you have to lose? Buy IT!!

If your just starting out and can't afford an aluminum sluice or neeb a small sluice for backpacking in to those hard to reach places. The fox is light weight and compact but not to small that it can't take a shovel full of dirt. Easily fits in a large pack or just carry with you. NOW A WARNING TO YOU ALL! This was not forged in the mountains of mordor by Dwarfs its plastic, very strong plastic but it may not line up perfectly. But with some know how and a heat gun you can fix any misalignment. These miner imperfections won't stop you from finding gold plus you paid half of what a big sluice cost so settle down. Now as for the riffle clips a lot of folks seem to be having trouble with getting them out. By holding each side of the sluice just above the clips and pulling outword (see picture) they'll come right out and if you do some how brake the clamp Amazon has replacement ones. Over all this is a good little sluice.

The only bad thing about this sluice is the carry bag is very flimsy. Otherwise, it's exactly as advertised. I am a novice, so I can't really say that this is a good gold sluice but I've used it and it definitely catches heavy material.

Works great. Gold drops right where should be. So much lighter than my other sluice. So glad I purchased this. Also, half the price of my other sluice. Highly recommend this product.
