Select (not comprehensive) families/descendants/lineage presented
Giving it four stars because of the thoroughness of what is presented. The author appears to have taken research published in other sources as it pertained to her husband's ancestry as a previous reviewer stated. The sources she used are not fully cited as a librarian or researcher would insist upon BUT the original resources Rixford used may be available full-text through FamilySearch, Ancestry, or American Ancestors and searchable based on the information she does cite. One such resource Rixford references is "Colonial Families" by New York Historical Society, 1928. Page numbers vary but for example: Cerdic, King of Wessex was found (by Rixford) on pages 104-107. I believe the full title of this resource to be Colonial Families of America and is a multi-volume set. But I could be wrong. There are no footnotes and no bibliography. The resources used are cited per section. If you are lucky enough to find who you believe you descend from you will be treated to a fairly concise biography, for example: Cerdic, to the extent we know what we know from the 6th century.

Great Genealogy tool.
Since my family came over on the Mayflower, this is a great tool in my Genealogy research.

Title is deceptive. Not about Mayflower Passengers.
Written in 1932 by Elizabeth M. Rixford, this is a genealogy of the author's husband, Oscar Herbert Bixford. The ancestors trace back to various royal families from Europe from immigrants to New England who arrived in the early 1600s. Only a few of these were among the 104 Mayflower passengers. Most of the immigrants covered arrived later in the "Puritan Migration to New England" of 1630-1640.From Wikipedia:"The Great Migration saw 80,000 people leave England, roughly 20,000 migrating to each of four destinations: Ireland, New England, the West Indies, and the Netherlands. The immigrants to New England came from every English county except Westmorland; nearly half were from East Anglia. The colonists to New England were mostly families with some education who were leading relatively prosperous lives in England."As other reviews note, the material is of mixed quality.

A whole lot of history
I loved reading about the people and imagining that they were my relatives. I'm researching my family and this book helps.

Not too bad of a resource
I wish the coats of arms had been in color but then it would have been more expensive. This is a good book to help you along in your genealogical search but be aware that there are errors in it. But then, you have to consider it was published in 1932. Not only does it have the standard birth/death/marriage information, but it has a lot of history and descriptions of places and people that I really like in a book like this.

Very Unsatisfying, Much Info Left Out
This book does have a little bit of info on some of my ancestors royal connections, but the majority of the book is focusing mainly on the author’s direct lineage to them leaving out massive amounts of info, to skip to her connection to them. It does mention the royals of England, France, Portugal, and Spain, as well as William the Conqueror and even Charlemagne, and several families of nobility including the FitzAlans, and others, but This book left me disappointed as there was not much info on certain historical figures that many including myself are decended from such as the aforementioned William the Conqueror for instance, (the reason why I bought the book) barely a page of text and a picture of his coat of arms, was very unsatisfying.

Nice book for info
Good book but felt it leaned toward mostly one lady’s connection to royalty

A little misleading in the title.
This book was not really about all royal families. It's about one family timeline so just be aware of that. I will get some use out of it but not as much as I hoped.
