BushnellH2O 8x42mm Binoculars, Waterproof and Fogproof Binoculars for Boating, Hiking, and Camping

I bought these for my sailboat in the south pacific and used them for 4 months sailing around. They were substantially better than the plastimo binoculars onboard the boat. Like night and day better. I'm familiar with high end glass (rifle scopes mostly) and these are 90% of the performance of the highest quality glass at a tenth of the price. IE the best bang for your buck.They probably won't float if you drop them overboard, but they are fogproof and waterproof. I would wash them off with fresh water whenever they got salty and they still look great. I would worry more about UV damage to the plastic long term. Quite happy with these as general purpose binoculars and especially on a boat.

Something is off with the lenses in these binoculars, after focusing there is always a slight double vision effect.I attempted a return through Amazon but they suggested I contact the manufacturer directly. I attempted that several times with no response.

I purchased these for an Alaskan cruise and was generally quite pleased with them. They were a little heavier than I had anticipated, but the optics were clear and I was able to spot quite a bit of wildlife with them. Yes, you can get less expensive binoculars, but honestly, these will last for years to come. Never had issues focusing and they worked well for me when I removed my glasses. If I had one negative to say, it is about the lens caps. They don't fit tight and are easily bumped off. Thankfully, we just used these on our balcony, but if I was taking them out sightseeing or hiking, I would be worried that the lens caps would easily go missing.
